Better PPR combo?

Would you rather have LeVeon Bell and Brandin Cooks or Antonio Brown and Forsett. Seems most of my mocks are pretty similar after my first two picks. I have the second pick and I know the guy is going AP.

Bell and Cooks no question.

No there's definitely a question to be had here

The drop off from Bell to Forsett is huge. The drop off from Brown to Cooks not so much. Makes it a easy decision from my view point.

Id call it a draw. But give me the 2nd duo who won't miss 2 games off the bat

i just wonder if Forsett will end up passing his numbers from last year.
I guess he has a chance if he catches a lot of passes. he caught 44 last year and now Trestman is calling the plays.
he'll be 30 in October but its not like he has been used heavily throughout his career.

You have any evidence to back up that huge drop off?
I don't have any numbers in front of me but I can pretty much tell you that you are wrong

Here's my answer:
On a PPG projection, I have it about even with AB/Forsett just ahead. (That includes Bell 14 games).
That said, I'd ask #1) Do you trust Forsett will fall back to you in 2nd round and #2) Is Cooks the best WR available in 2nd round?

Since when?

I'll take Brown and Forsett

Neither do I. I'm just projecting what I think this year will bring.
I think in a ppr format Bell finishes as a top 5 RB fantasy wise. Usually your top RBs are pretty far ahead of the 6-15 guys at the end of the season.
Where as WR its not such as big of a drop off. I also am projecting Cooks to breakout this year and for Brown to come under what he did last year.
Just my opinion. For me it would be an easy decision. Could be wrong but that's what I would go with.

I expect both gaps to close this year, but an argument can be made as to which duo will score more ppg combined.

Interesting. I would not have thought it would have been that close. You have to understand I believe cooks will far surpass his year last year though.

I like Cooks but he did have games when he disappeared last year.
I know he's the guy this year with Graham gone, but that could be a double edged sword. Defenses will game plan to take him out of the game. I'd feel better about Cooks if there were other proven options besides Colston to throw the ball to.

Also, I am high on Cooks like most, but what do you expect his PPG average to be this year?

Don't forget to factor in that Bell is missing 2 games this season.

The more I think about it, I think I like the idea of Brown and Forsett more. Cooks being your #1 guy means your #2 WR will probably be much lower on the totem pole when it snakes back to me. Making it better to grab the clear #1 WR and take two really good tier 2 rbs
eta: especially since nelson and benjamin are now out for the season. the WR tiers got that much smaller in a hurry. i guess basically id rather rely on two tier 2 rbs, then two tier 2 WRs

Just a side note on Cooks. I decided to look up Colston's stats throughout his Saints Career just to get a gauge of Saints WR1 usage. I know Colston and Cooks are 2 completely different types, but mostly for target info and FF ppg.
The results:
Colston's highest target count in a season: 143 (2007)
Colston's highest FF PPR PPG in a season: 17.6 (2007)
Colston's PPG average in his best span of years: 15.7 (2006-2012). That excludes the last 2 year decline.
TBH, I'm not really surprised at the numbers. Very solid Top15 numbers overall with 2 years of borderline Top10 numbers. Those are all with Payton/Brees, about half with/without Jimmy. Shows the Saints can have a consistent Top15 WR with the occasional Top10.
But it also makes me wonder if that is Cooks ceiling or can he top Colston's best years?

Forsett is unlikely to get back to you at 23OA in a 12-team league.
