At pick 5, is it crazy to go Nick Chubb?

Obviously could be risky. This is a standard league. If PPR I would go Hopkins easily. But just don’t feel comfortable taking a WR at 5 in a non-PPR league.

However, I feel like there’s just as much risk taking guys like Bell and Johnson as there is Chubb, right? Bell and Johnson will obviously get tons of volume but Bell has injury concerns and hasn’t played in a head. Johnson’s situation has improved but only marginally.

Chubb, in that offense, just seems more logical to me. What do you guys think?

He has the highest ceiling of the bunch and is safer for the first 8 games. Any speculation of Hunt playing is no more than Arizona crashing and burning, the Jets being low volume, or Conner giving up work to Samuels our the gate. I have Chubb at 5 in .5 ppr and standard. Might be number 1 until Hunt returns, and the pie might be big enough for him to not fall off much after. Win now, worry later.

David Johnson is the safer pick, and he's the main show in town for the offense.

If you're talking end of the 1st you may want to pull the Chubb trigger there.

I dont judge anyone for avoiding DJ or Bell in that spot.

They are both very talented backs who are playing behind garbage offensive lines.

I could see solid arguments for Conner, Chubb, Adams, Hopkins or even an upside play with Todd Gurley over either of those two.

I took Chubb at 9 this weekend before bell and gurley. I woulda taken him over Dj and bell too, but they were gone. So, yea I would just reach for him at 5

Might have the option of considering Zeke or not. I’d draft DJ over Zeke right now.

I had 6th pick in 12 team non PPR league and I debated between DJ and Chubb. I ended up going DJ and to my surprise Chubb made it back to me in 2nd round so it was a win win....

I doubt Zeke will be there

If he is that’s obviously the pick. Just trying to prepare like he won’t be there

I won't be that lucky. I know for a fact Chubb won't make it back around to me in the 2nd round. His ADP has steadily risen and he will be a back end of Round 1 kind of guy in two weeks. To me, there's not that much difference between Chubb and David Johnson and Bell, the only other players I'm considering at 5.

Again, if it was PPR, it would be a no brainer to take Nuk or Adams. Or if Zeke fell I'd take him. Chubb will get tons of volume for 8 games and theoretically he still could even with Hunt back. Chubb/Hunt could be the 2019 version of what Kamara and Ingram were in 2017

I like Chubb more then DJ. But I’d go Hopkins over Chubb.

But to answer your question, it’s a reach but I don’t think it’s crazy

It’s either Chubb or Conner for me I think. I’m getting more and more worried about DJ every day. Their D is horrible. If it was PPR I’d feel better about considering him since he’s going to catch the ball a ton but I think Conner and Chubb are just a little safer
