Self contracting a new home build. Anyone have a reputable metal roof installer in Lafayette/Youngsville area? I have the metal lined up, just need someone to install it. Thanks

You SURE you want metal?

Why not add that to the list of DIY's? My ex's dad self contracted their previous house and we installed the metal roof ourselves. Wasn't very difficult between three of us and it took a Saturday and Sunday morning.

Yeah. We want metal. Its old acadian style so going with the traditional 5 v crimp look. It is going over plywood decking and then stripped with 2x4s. It is 4100 under roof, and the metal will be about 35 feet long, so its more than myself and a few friends can handle.

I work in the field of metal buildings. I'll ask the project mgr. if he knows someone who will do sheeting work.
Plywood/furring will be done by the carpenters? Or will they need to do that as well?

Plywood is up with felt paper covering it. Firring will be installed by the carpenters. Its ready to go.

wouldn't the metal roofing manufacturer be your best bet for a recommendation?

nearest manufacturer of 5V crimp is probably in Texas. Butch has a steel building erection company (licensed). I just wasn't sure if he would do a sheeting only job.
