Going to clear Delta GM by 122 MQM's...by far the closest I've ever cut it.

I was at global services status with United a few years ago, not something to brag about because I was never home and away from my family for quite a bit.

The vacations we took together we all got to fly business first class which was enjoyable, but looking back I'm not sure those family vacations upgrades or worth all the time I was away from home and all of the baseball and soccer games I missed for over a year

I'm not that good (1232 MQMs for United Gold), but I still cut it close. Had to convince work I needed one more trip before the new year and will get my status after my return trip Thursday

Also achieved SPG Platinum 75, with 77 nights this year.

I'm only at like 30 Marriott stays this year. I don't know if they're going to let me keep Platinum again.

???? When can you go, how many miles do you need, and from where? I'll find you a fun one

ETA: I'm just going to assume you're in Cali somewhere, hopefully by LAX. If you only need 3,000 miles do a roundtrip LAX-MSY-LAX tomorrow or this wednesday (12/13 or 12/14) for $161/ 3340 miles/ 4.8 cpm

Or weirdly enough, LAX-ORD-BUF-ORD-LAX this wednesday 12/14 or LAX-PHX-ORD-BUF-CLT-LAX thursday 12/15 for $264/ 4490 miles wed, 5111 miles thurs/ 5.2 cpm

What's your background? You always seem to have great airline insight and knowledge.

Cuse is very good at it but an understanding of ITA matrix and you can do what he's doing.

Houston- my experience is in science. I've been traveling a lot of my life, I also grew up as a horrible backseat driver so that probably didn't help. Some people hate the process of flying, I love it.

Anyone could look up more detailed info, but you and I both know 90% of people don't care or know how to Not a huge fan of ITA matrix, I'm more of a visual learner so the google flights map is my go to for browsing.

I am pissed I will have 46 SPG nights this year. Work moved me a few times to a cheaper hotel so miss the 10 suite nights.

I will do 160 segments on DL and have right at 150k MQMs. The rollover MQMs build a touch from last year where I finished with 140k. I expect less flights next year but more MQMs.

I've stopped suggesting people to use ITA Matrix. Most don't care to learn how to search or really don't find the need to learn or know about the pin-point searches ITA is good for. That said, I most always search through the matrix myself. Especially useful since earlier this year when airlines (through COLLUSION) started that thing where multi-segment trips are charged at the highest fare bucket.

ITA Matrix is a quick fix for that BS. Not dancing to their stupid song.

Hit platinum with Delta on my trip last week - about 500 MQM's over the threshhold.

Only way I did it is I had about 16,000 carryover miles from last year. : )

I'll hit Executive Platinum on Friday with my return from Sacramento. What I don't understand is what that status gets me next year. I've looked at the website and it confuses the shite outta me.

shite pissed me off as I routinely will fly a route like BTR-ATL-JAX then MCO-MIA and then FLL-ATL-BTR to catch clients in multiple areas on one trip.

Unlimited auto-requested complimentary upgrades on domestic flights and 4 system-wide upgrade certs for you to use on international flights. Also gets you option to choose free premium economy seats on flights and $200 award redeposit fee is waived. Especially useful to speculatively book award flights.
