Would you rather attend a game that's completely sold out or has very few fans?

I was at braves game a few weeks ago with a few other fans and got to thinking

This is pretty cool

I got to sit wherever I want, got cheap seat, ZERO lines for anything, didn't have to ask 20 people to stand if I had to pee, not much traffic

What say u?

Sell outs mean the game has stakes so I'll go with that

I've had some of my most fun times as a fan when it was so packed I couldn't move and emotion was high so I'll go with that.

Definitely very few fans. I hate people, hate being crammed in, hate loud noise, and hate having to stand for any portion of the game. I haven't been to a live sporting event in nearly 10 years for those very reasons and will likely never go to another again in my entire lifetime.

i'll be honest, some of the most fun games are when the stakes are that low, the crowd is small and teams just let 'er rip and go back and forth. the game has no hype so it being good kind of surprises you.

but yeah, if the whole season is that, someone's doing it wrong...

for a midsummer baseball game I wouldn't mind being the only person in the park

everything else is more fun when it's sold out

Baseball is way more fun when it's sparse IMO, the game is slow and relaxing and can be enjoyed that way.

Football, basketball and hockey are much faster and the crowds emotion plays a much bigger role.

i'll give you that for a meaningless July game or a college baseball midweek...

but a hyped crowd enhances baseball too... like the MLB playoffs, an LSU regional, or even a big HS game

Baseball is much more fun when there's a hyped crowd. I've had a blast at mid week 10k Stros games getting plastered in the upper deck, but having folks into it all around you is best

Fans in the seats is part of the deal to me. If there are no fans then it's a pretty shitty atmosphere right

Ive been to both packed MLB games and 2016 Braves game. I didn't mind the small crowd. Got to move around to better seats. They were both fun.
NFL or NCAAF definitely sell out. Its just mor fun celebrating or cussing with a bunch of strangers

well if it's the Braves who cares? They suck and probably not one game of their season will matter

If it's Cubs- Nats or Mets Cubs or Mets Nats or Cubs Cards I want a full packed stadium. The crowd makes the game important in many ways. 50k that are into it blows away the I don't have to be near other people vibe of the Braves type game (and I hate being around people). Stay home and watch if snacks and cost are your main concern

edit to make sense geesh
