Online Appliance sites

My less than 2 year old Whirlpool has a motor or tub bearing going out. I may fix it depends on part costs. A good site to get appliances online has been noted here before but I can't remember it. Any help will be appreciated.

You need to check Amazon also.

Is it a top load, high efficiency? The same thing happened on our Whirlpool Cabrio, but less than a year old. Luckily it was still under warranty. They had to replace the spindle and wash tub due to metal corrosion. I hope the repLacement parts are of a higher quality construction.

Thanks fellows. I just checked the motor and the pulley turns free with no noise so I'm thinking tub bearing. I'm gonna go see what they cost. Amazon has Speed Queens for $800ish. I don't really know how that compares yet.

A cabrio costs $260 to replace bearing if that machine is worth keeping. If you are buying new, go with Speed Queen if not that something cheap because nothing new really lasts anymore.

warranty companies milk the company because they pay shite labor prices to techs. On a Cabrio you just change the shaft and the bearings and you are good to go.
Changing the basket makes things easier for people who don't have the cabrio bearing tool.

$50 online, but you need a special tool to install and you may need a tool to take your drum out if it's stuck.
It's not an easy job. I spend a lot of time trying to walk people on here through repairs, I'm not sure this is one I could recommend someone do themselves unless they study the instructions that come with the bearing and watch a few videos. Be very very careful when removing the rotor and stator.
