All of you saying it's a ripoff. Do you even know how it works? I have mine leveled and it still moves around a bit. Such big swings without it. $200 winter without it and my last bill would have been $580. Levels in the $400 range.

Why would you?

Lack of self-discipline?

I agree with you. It's simple math that is laid out in every bill.

It's basically a constant roll over of your last 12 months' bills. Not sure where the scam is.

Agree. We have it. $160/month for 3300 sq ft.

On a related note, anyone get a brochure from Entergy over the last couple of weeks wanting you to join their "turn off your compressor" program? They put a device on your a/c and when the grid is approaching high use then Entergy will send out a signal to the device turning off your compressor but not your fan. Something in there about $40 credit or some crap to make you feel like you're getting a deal.

Not that I remember getting but entergy is so $$. Slemco has way better rates but you can't choose who you want unless you give up the house/location you want.

I do but only because I use electric heat. Once I go central the shot will stop.

It really doesn't matter to my finances either way. It was a $400 swing from winter to summer to back. I was already on auto pay so I just called them up.
