Leaning Seat in a 21' CC

i've got a 21' kenner vision with a leaning seat/post. apparently standard equip from internet image searching. despite always wanting a leaning seat/post, i'm thinking of taking it out. ice chest stores under it. am i nuts for wanting to remove something that most fishermen would be happy to have and that the boat manufacturer (who knows more about boats than 99% of boat owners do) installed as standard equip.
pros: convenient additional storage, usually pretty comfortable while driving
cons: pita to access the rear live well (also have a front live well), pita to get the ice chest out, pita getting to the ice chest, crowds up the back of the boat, hard to get under the console.
what do i seal the holes with if i remove it?
tia, i'll hang up and listen - sorry so long

I have a Kenner with the ice chest seat that I'll trade you.

Hope you plan on keeping the boat for a while because you will be making the value go down imo.

I don't understand how you don't like it. My dad's kenner has the icechest seat and I hate it. My frontier has the lean post and I have plenty of room behind it and it's comfortable to sit on and drive.
Is yours like this?

I just put in a new leaning post and my pros are your cons and vice versa. don;t understand. that said, if you want an ice chest seat, I'll sell you one that fits a 96qt igloo.

If you like to sit while driving you can hang it up with the seat. I swapped out my ice chest seat in my sea pro with a leaning post a few years ago. Best $400 I've ever spent.

Did you put it in yourself, or bring it to someone?

I went from and ice chest flip/flop seat to a leaning post about 3 yrs ago in my Nautic Star 1910. Would never go back to ice chest seat. Installed it myself, was very easy!

You're picky SOB, remove it and deduct quite a bit of resale value.
By a small (white plastic with lid) and scoop your bait into it how many ever you want if you're catching. Bring that where you or the problem people are. Saves time and problems.
PS- the white bucket with the lid off seems to make the bait not try to jump out, maybe they look up and see sky so they stay low. Not racist.

I'd say that's a cappy live well shape for putting a leaning post. I'd be pissed too. Looks like it would be a bitch to get a full ice chest of fish out.

Just looking at the pic, is the depth of the storage area under the post as shallow as it looks? If that chest is protruding past the back rails then I can understand your bitch.
Our's is just a drink box which is perfect under the post.

That is a horrible design.
Also. I only use the ice chest under the leaning post for drinks. Never fish.

Yea I see your complaint now, that's a crappy design. But honestly I use the box under there for drinks. I have another up front for fish. Trust me and leave the lean post..you won't like the seat with cooler under it it. But it's your boat, do what makes you happy
