Rocked- Saw Foo Fighters at the Woodlands Pavilion about 10 years ago. Wasn't a huge fan but found some last minute tix on the 3rd row so I bought them to impress my new gf. Concert was awesome and we had a great time.
Also saw Tom Petty twice at Woodlands and they jammed for well over 2 hours. Solid shows.
Let downs- went through a phase back in 2003-2004 where I was into Coldplay. Saw them in Houston and was disappointed. Probably have listened to 3 of their songs since.
I'm a longtime Dwight Yoakam fan and I saw home twice previously and he was great. Saw him a couple years ago in Houston right before Christmas. It was his last show of the tour and he really mailed it in. Went throught the motions, no interaction with the audience. He sang "fast as you" and got the hell out of dodge.

I saw Eagles of Death Metal at One Eyed Jacks a few years ago. They. Rocked. Their. Asses. Off.
I saw the Black Keys at a Jazz Fest party back when they released Attack and Release. Those two guys rocked the entire building.
I saw Hank Jr. twice, and both of his shows were disappointing.
I saw Incubus at Lollapalooza back in college. All my friends talked them up. They weren't very good.

Biggest letdowns would be Primus at the Sugar Mill a few years ago and Tool in BR and New Orleans in 2007. Haven't listened to either band since. Just incredibly boring shows.
Yes. Tool in 07 blew.

Unexpected: Los Lobos
Having a hard time thinking of a letdown.

If that was in S'port as well, I was at that show. It was the first concert I ever attended.

Concert letdowns
RHCP in New Orleans October 2012. Josh Klinghoffer was injured and therefore sat on a stool for the majority of the show.
Anthony Kiedis was recovering from a broken foot which canceled the original concert date in the first place.
Their energy was non-existent compared to years past and the setlist was terrible.

Saw Stone Temple Pilots at State Palace Theater around spring of 2000. Small setting, used to be a movie theater. Scott Weiland was on top of his game. One of the best concerts I've ever been to, and I have been to quite a few.

Rocked-Boston last year at Cynthia Woods Pavilion. Played every hit and the sound was fabulous.
Letdown-Dr. John at Dosey Doe in The Woodlands this past spring. The band and set list were good but Dr. John had absolutely no interaction with the audience. Dude can hardly move now...

Expected good but way, way over the top - Pink Floyd in 75 - I had no idea what I was in for.
Didn't want to go, but did because of my woman and was blown away - Tina Turner Private Dancer Tour
Never heard of them and blown away - Kansas first tour
Simply terrible - BTO, Mahogany Rush.
Bit of a let down - Atlanta Rhythm Section never did anything for me in concert, but they stayed true to their music.

Letdown:
Kings of Leon- I wasn't a huge fan going in, but they were just completely flat. I still like "Use Somebody", but I don't really listen to much of anything else by them any more.
Unexpectedly Rocked:
Crash Kings- Never even knew this band existed until the opened for Jet at The Varsity in 2010. They were simply outstanding, especially considering that they didn't even have a guitar player in the band. That keyboard player/singer rocked hard.
