I live in Seattle now and yesterday we went to a local pizza place that got high reviews on yelp and all the other review sources. So we decided to check it out

We spent $18 on a pizza. There was only 1 size. Problem was the pizza was about the size of those personal pizzas you get from Pizza Hut. Maybe 7 inch diameter at the most.

It was good but of course we were still hungry after eating it all. For $18 you shouldn't still be hungry after eating it. No bang for your buck after all.

We were severly let down. I'm just wondering in what world is spending $18 on a 6 or 7 inch pizza good enough to be have a 4.4 out of 5 average review rating on Trip Advisor. Is there just a demographic of people that are perfectly ok with this?

It's for this reason I'm avoiding the local downtown restaurants around where I live now. My boss took me to a Mexican place on my first day of work and my 2 enchiladas with rice and beans was $19 and she spent $15 on a salad that was not big at all. I refuse to pay so high for so little. I'm not a fat arse but I still want to be satisfied after eating.

Name the restaurant and I will tell you if you ordered an $18 za or not.

Tripadvisor has pix of the food and normally the menus. Surely you knew what you were getting yourself into.

People in seattle aren't fat arses.

And you don't want a meal that's going to put you to sleep.

Now, Chicago....that's where you can get a righteous working lunch. (glug glug glug)

Doesn't Seattle have a high COL? They probably figure that most people in the downtown area can afford an $18 pizza.

Why does an apartment in downtown Seattle cost more than an apartment in downtown Baton Rouge?

It's also because of the type of pizza that you're getting, check out Pizza Domenica's menu, it's in New Orleans (which isn't as expensive as Seattle in general) and the pizzas are similarly priced.

Get to a shoneys buffet next time.

Seriously though, Saettle restaurants have to pay a shite ton more to operate a business than one in Baton Rouge

My apartment is downtown and costs 1300

Pizza we got was the clam one. It was good but just not that big. It looks bigger in the pictures. Definitely smaller than a tombstone or Digiorno.

Seattle...downtown...we spent $18 on a pizza...we were still hungry
So each of you ordered $9 worth of food, downtown in a major city. That sounds like the equivalent cost of a mid ranged costing appetizer. Seems like a reasonable price and yes, I'd still be hungry too.

It blows my mind that you thought you were going to fill up for $9 downtown in a major city

Pizza is on the smaller side and may not be worth the $36 it would take to "fill up" for 2 but I don't see anything worth starting a thread over. If you wanted a big pizza or something you are more accustomed to, you should have checked the reviews first to see if it is something you would like. I bet the clams were fresh tho
