I wonder how much the river cruises cost. They can't have casinos, I would assume. Lots of cruise lines help offset costs thanks to the casino.

Disney Cruise lines do not have a casino. No bueno.

However, other than that, I have heard great things. I don't have kids and can't stand them so Disney probably wouldn't be for me, even with a casino.

I'm going on a cruise in April. I've been on NCL twice and loved it, but this time we are going on the Carnival Dream. I'm kind of apprehensive that the trip won't be as nice as I've heard mixed reviews on Carnival. We have a couple of small kids and I heard they were more geared towards that. I guess we'll see.

That is a great ship. There is something for everybody.

I wonder if the remodled Triumph will bring a better Carnival experience to NOLA.

Carnival gets a bad rap on here but has a lot more to do than Norweigen

Biggest difference between Carnival and others is that Carnival attracts a younger crowd. I guess that's "trashy" here.

It gets called trashy on here because most of those on here who have been on a Carnival ship have only been on the Elation 3/4 day boat out of NOLA.

$200 for 3 to 4 days of all you can eat boofay brings out the people of Wal-Mart.

Napleon is right. The longer length cruises bring out a better clientele as a whole.

The Dream is one of their largest and newest ships but getting rid of that piece of shite Elation will do wonders.

There is no comparison between the two ships.

Search Bump:

Do I need a passport for any portion of a Carnival Cruise to Cozumel?
Leaving NOLA
Getting off and back on in Cozumel
Returning to NOLA?

Nope. Just don't miss the boat in Cozumel.

Then get aged steaks in the steakhouse every night, and pasta or burritos in the build your own sections.
Plus the BBQ on the Lanai was really good. Buffet wasn't bad at all. They had a carving station and the Indian Food at the Tandoor station and the Mongiolian BBQ were both really good.
I thought the Pizza sucked and the Burgers and Hot dogs were just okay. Food in the Main Dining Room was excellent for a cruise. They have gone back to Maine Lobsters.

We went to the steakhouse one night, on a June cruise. The ship was packed, but only like three tables occupied in the steakhouse which was out-freaking-standing!! I got lamb chops, but man, that was the experience.

Take the "Behind the Fun" tour, if you can, worth every penny, very enjoyable, informative, and a couple bites to eat in the steak house at the end.
