Secondly we suck at drafting. Sure let's pass on a sure fire play then pick up another SJB this year.
Stupid reasoning.
This team will not be successful unless they do a better job drafting, period.
This team needs to go away from older, higher priced guys and started building with young, cheap talent that pans out. We cannot go through this cap craziness every year.
I'm not against getting Mathis, but not for the 44th pick in the draft.

You don't give up a 2nd round for a 33 year old guard for a 2yr rental. It is important, but that's ridiculous. He could get a back injury like Evans and his top tier status can drop like a rock.

So glad you don't run the team

In a salary cap system, you have to have some high contributors that are on rookie salaries. Some positions, like QB, RE, CB, LT are worth paying for. Some are not.
We've got to get younger and more efficient.
I think the Saints have drafted the last few years thinking they had a good enough roster and just took chances on players. They will take a different approach this year.

This
I'd go even farther and say nothing higher than our 5th this year if we are taking on that contract.
We have actually done a pretty good job drafting OL in the loomis/payton era, especially in later rounds

Please don't put anymore Alabama players on your roster.

He is no longer an Alabama player. He plays in the NFL, currently for the Philadelphia Eagles. Alabama has nothing to do with this.

Of course it does, just like most of the NFL players are VERY loyal to their alma maters. I don't want you guys to sign anymore 'bama players cause I like them.
Conflict of interest that makes me confused on Sundays. Saturdays are much easier.

No. It doesn't. Not to most sane NFL fans.
I HATE Alabama, but let New Orleans draft Cooper or sign Julio Jones...boom! Favorite player.

The Philadelphia Daily News' Les Bowen reports a trade of Evan Mathis is "indeed close."
The team trading for Mathis is unclear at this time. The Dolphins have been rumored as having interest, although Miami beat writers have thrown some cold water on that. The Rams are also believed to be in the running for Mathis.
