Reggie brang the wood vs the cardinals. To say he was not a major part in our superbowl is ignorant. SEAN PEYTON USED REGGIE BUSH EXACTLY THE WAY HE NEEDED TO BE USED. his job on the field was to be a decoy. and we won a superbowl with that strategy, didnt we. Reggie may be playong better now but his role is much different than it was here. You dont see the dolphins or lions winning any superbowls, do you?

If you change how the 2006 free agency went (drew bush payton...etc) at all then we may be cheering for the Los Angeles Saints rite now. Something about the new coach, the new QB, the new Star RB sparked energy in the fans in New Orleans. It brang the city that was devestated by katrina back together. It gave us a reason to hope, and ill be damned if we didnt take that hope and run with it! And thats why we are where we are today. (That and because Loomis is a G)

People think we won a super bowl because of Reggie? We'd have had equal success with AJ Hawk
Based on what? I'll take the known Super Bowl victory with Reggie Bush

He was real integral in the super bowl
Do you think we even make the Super Bowl without getting homefield advantage?
Lets just ignore the 3 touchdowns he scored in the playoffs
He had 63 yards in the Super Bowl and averaged 7 yards per touch.
He had 20 of the yards on the go ahead drive in the 4th quarter

He won that game? We could have won that game without him.
Maybe. The NFL is a funny sport. Arizona took the 1st play from scrimmage for a TD. It was 21-14 midway through the 3rd quarter

Yes, I am coming out of my short retirement...
Reggie's best game as a Saint was against the Cards in the playoffs. He had some frustrating moments while he was here, but he was clutch in a very important game to us that year. He also had prolonged spurts of success throughout that year and the entirety of his stay. To say he was not important to us in '09 is simply not true.

At the time, didn't everyone think that the Texans would select Bush? So maybe the Saints figured that Tenn had info that they wouldn't and wanted to jump them for Bush - the large offer of a #2 suggests something along those lines.
Anyway, Bush was a very good player. I thought he'd be like a Gale Sayers, but he wasn't.

...multiple playoff TDs and a solid super bowl and winning drive in 09.
maybe he didn't live up to his billing, but he had a very nice rookie year in 06 too. 88 receptions, 1300 yards from scrimmage, 9 total TDs....that receptions number is impressive for a rookie, and it's the 3rd best mark in NFL history.
To say he didn't have a significant impact or contribute to winning is ludicrous.

The Reggie pick was the smart move. It reenergized a fan base that had its team taken away bc of Katrina. That pick and the addition of Brees caused the first waiting list in season tickets

People would have lost their shite if we passed on Reggie that year.

Byron Bojangles and Maximus on the same side of an argument.
Enough said.
