Not by plane? MIL was flying to see her son in Norfolk and delta canceled her flight after she got to NYC. Shes planning on taking greyhound from grand central station but any other advice is highly appreciated.

Here is a pic if anyone wants to help her out

Bus is probably the best option. She could train it to VA, but that's expensive and slow past DC.

Have son drive to NYC and have a way better time.

Surely that's an option.

Bus or rental car is probably the best option. Trains aren't much faster and cost about what a flight does.

OT but If shes coming tonight or tomorrow be careful and watch the weather. May be some flooding in Norfolk due to the storm passing by.

Waiting at the airport now to fly to norfolk and then drive to Florida at around 6 pm on the fourth. How does the east coast look around that time? I have heard that storm is going through.

You should be good by 6. Storm is passing by Virginia overnight tonight. As for flying in tonight, hopefully you can get there before it hits.

Does she need to go tonight? I'd say that a rental car straight down I-95 is the most efficient option -- train won't get you there much faster and will be more expensive. The drive will be ~8 hours depending on how traffic through Philly and DC treats her. If she wants to go bus, I'd definitely recommend Megabus over Greyhound. I don't know if Megabus goes specifically to Norfolk, but I know it goes nearby in the Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach area.

She should take Vamoose Bus, Megabus, Boltbus or the like. Less expensive and a better ride.

They'll get her to DC and I can drive her to Norfolk.
