I was in Mayfair not long ago. Nice joint. Haven't been to Milan in several years but I remember a bunch of Chicago Cubs stuff in there.
I'm a fan of Bar Tonique on Rampart.
And not going to get music or bottle service at any of those but good drinks.
I sat on the porch of the Columns last week and had a couple cocktails. Norm sure it's a tough chair during carnival.

Agree with everyone else, these places are terrible. BUT, if you are with types who want this, here are the only ones I can think of that might fit the bill:
Metro
Ampersand
Republic
Jax Bistro
Whiskey Blue
Le Phaire
Out of all of those, the place that these out of towners would probably like the most is Jax Bistro. It definitely has bottle service, music, and douchebaggery in a faux Louisiana setting.

As others have mentioned, this isn't a nightclub city. The several we have are filled with cheese balls or white trash and a bunch of 30k millionaires

The Milan is one of my best buddy's neighborhood bar. I've been there a bunch before concerts and such. I would love to see someone order a bottle of Goose and "reserve" a dartboard there!
