He gets the benefit of graduating, competing for an SEC and National Championship and increasing his draft stock and initial pay day.

Is it? If you play 3 years making only a "paltry" $500,000 per, then that's $1.5 mill by the time you are 24-25 years old. That's WAY ahead of what 99% of college graduates will have earned by age 25. Hell that's way ahead of what most people will have earned by age 35. Stick some of that $1.5 mill in the bank or an account to earn interest and you're still coming out ahead.

I'll never fault a kid for wanting stay 4 years in college and earn a degree. However, I'll likewise never fault a kid for leaving college early to immediately earn a 6 figure yearly salary.
