Picked up a stainless Gunsite Scout. Makes the third Ruger I own along with a blued 22/45 and a 12ga Red Label.

Nice. I've got one that looks very similar. Fine gun.

You don't have a 10/22?

Is that the .375 Ruger or .308?

I am honestly not ragging on you, but I am curious: What's the attraction to you of the "Gunsite Scout" gun concept? What caliber is yours?

How many box magazines did it come with?

Nope. Been looking at getting one but just isn't something I really haven't put much effort into buying.

.308, don't really think they come in any other caliber.

Compact, full power rifle and I have the option of using a low-power LER scope or a traditional one if I want to push the range a bit more.

Just the one steel mag. Used the coupon in the box to order 10rd and 5rd poly mags though.

Sorry, I was thinking of the Ruger Guide gun.

I figured, I like my shoulder and my retinas where they are too much to try something that light with that much cartridge...

I bet the .375 kicks like a SOB. Are you going with a Scout scope on yours or traditional?

Planning on getting both. I'll rock the iron sights for a few hundred rounds first then I'm going to try a fixed low-power scout scope and then a nicer traditional scope.

What a beautiful rifle!

Congrats on your purchase, sir! If you need someone to review it, I can try to piece together a nice outline.

One thing Ruger needs to do is work on the rear aperture sight a little more. It's ok but the smooth rounded profile does not work as well as the flat and recessed versions on a M1 or AR. Should have been bead blasted or had some high LPI checkering machined into the flats.

I've been watching videos on this gun ever since you posted earlier. I'm convinced it will be my next rig. Gotta sell some stuff quick.

^ similar to what I'd actually do with one. Seems like a good deer gun and whatever the hell else gun. Looks fun.
