I would love to own this set but am hesitant to drop the money that it costs. Anyone have a review or suggestion? Looks to be very impressive.

Got it from the LSU Barnes and Noble a few months ago. Something like 75% off. Awesome book imo

EBR parish library has the multivolume original in the reference section, and Modernist at Home in the circulating collection. Jefferson and St Charles have the 6-vol original in the circulating collection, and SCP has At Home as well. So if your local parish doesn't have it, you can easily borrow it through Interlibrary Loan. Usually takes a week or two to arrive and you can keep it for about a month. Your tax dollars at work...

I have the Modernist Cuisine at Home set, and it's still pretty damn intense. Firstly, I suggest if you get either one, look into a sous vide setup. The majority of the recipes call for sous vide cooking.
There's a guy on here that recently posted tips for making your own setup without buying an actual sous vide machine.
I got my book set for $35. It was regular $140 at the new Barnes and Noble on LSU campus and reduced to $35, so I scooped it up as soon as I saw it. I guess it was that cheap because students don't GAF about that..?
I want to say they sell the books for cheaper online, so browse around the web.
