Feds checked a buddy out of Venice last Thursday. But they didn't have any of the red snapper because season isn't open on weekdays

I got checked out of leeville the first weekend in April. We had a 3 man limit of both red and mangrove snapper. They just checked us and let us go. Last weekend, one of the guys at our camp went and had a limit of red snapper, he got a fine. It looks like the Feds have stopped playing nice...

Best of luck though.

Had some friends get all of their fish confiscated by the Feds recently. They had printed out maps showing what they thought to be the limits (showing La limits I should say), but apparently the Fed rules trumps all.

What is the federal agency that stops you? I've been stopped by LDWF and Coast Guard but never seen any other federal agency out there (Venice)? What do their boats look like?

They dont have their own boats

early reports were they the federal agents were on MISSISSIPPI fish and wildlife boats, stopping guys south of Venice

there are also Federal Agents on USCG boats as well as USCG Coasties writing tickets
