Google Earth A lot of the good places are privately owned or leased though

Bing Maps did a flyover when I was in my truck at the edge of the river one time. They also flew over my old back yard and you could see the figure 8's from us cutting donuts. My little claim to fame

On another note, I went out there last weekend and the water is high. Just high enough to flood the batture in most areas

Me and my buddy used to go over the levee, if you take a left on river road from brightside. Go about a mile and look to your right, there will be a paved road up and over the levee. There's some sort of industrial barge right there with people working. We would park right there and fish right there, people working there would come ask us how we were doing all the time. They never seemed to care and I know we talked to some supervisors out there.

It just looks more relaxed on folks riding 4 wheelers and driving on the levee. Always see people fishing by the gramercy bridge when I worked out that way. Not to many fishing by the sunshine bridge.

I used to fish the MS river between Brightside and the Vet School. Easiest place to park is near the Vet school but you can also park near the end of Brightside as well. Just walk over and find a area that looks good.

I never caught a ton but did catch some channels/blues when the river was high and up on the levee. Used shrimp for bait. One technique i used was to cast out leave it for no more than 5-10 minutes and then cast again, moving down the levee just a bit after each cast. Once you catch one stick around for a bit and cast there until it goes cold.

Good luck.
