Yep, that is exactly how it is with me. Mine usually occurs around 3am. When I asked the doctor he said to quit drinking.

I drink wine every night. However, if I have more than 2 glasses I feel like shite. It keeps me from being an alcoholic.

I don't think that's true. I drink 1-2 days a week, usually Friday or Saturday. It's tough for me to go back to go back these days, so i'll pick one or the other, and I'll have an occasional beer or whiskey night cap some nights, but pretty much a standard drinker. I have multiple friends who drink 4-5 days a week and never seem to have issues

Now my answer has even more relevancy.

This sounds like a combination of age and reduced tolerance due to drinking less. It's similar with me, as a teen and through my 20's I could start drinking before noon and close the bars down that night. Now if I started drinking before noon I'd be asleep a few hours before suppertime.

Hangovers are worse to, for me now I can drink 4 or maybe 5 and still be reasonably okay the next day, if I go much farther than that I'm looking at a miserable next day.

The short version is getting old sucks

Did the doctor say why?

I quit drinking due to the fact that no matter how much or little I would drink, I would be hungover like a dragon with crippling anxiety for 2 or 3 days. Used to be a 12 pack a day during the week, triple that on the weekends kind of guy.
Quit drinking for 2 years and then tried to do just a few at a time. That’s when I found out how much it sucked.
I don’t miss it.

I am. When I drink alcohol I tend to get dizzy. It also messes up my vision. Alcohol also causes my young to swell slightly make my speech sound slurred. The more I drink the worse it gets.

Also, if I drink to much I start to drive like a woman.

Pretty sure I am. Terrible hangovers including tremors for couple days afterwards. I don't drink often for this reason, although when I do I usually get my money's worth. I don't get drunk easily like you. I also get a mental hangover like guilt or paranoia...

If I drink one beer, I feel it the entire next day. Not a bad hangover but sluggish and shaky.

Have a friend that has an allergic reaction to beer ! He breaks out in hives and his throat starts swelling up. Pretty sure he would die if he drank a whole beer and wasn't rushed to the hospital. Because of that he drinks vodka in the amounts that normal people drink beer.

You aren't hydrating enough before or after drinking.

I started a thread on this a while back. With some types of alcohol, my stomach cramps severely up and I get clammy. I also seem to reach a plateau no matter how much I drink.

I would get flushed and feel way worse then everyone else the next day, but I had a high tolerance while drinking. I know my body hates booze so I don;t really drink anymore, unless I'm at a tailgate/wedding.

Your body might be having trouble getting rid of acetaldehyde, the first breakdown of ethanol in your body. It is toxic to most organs.

I'm Asian and have combated the Asian flush by taking Pepcid. Weird thing is I only get the flush and shitty feeling if I eat and then drink. I can drink all day without problems if I don't eat. So if I'm going to dinner and plan on having drinks I just take some Pepcid.

Try the Pepcid or quit drinking all together.
