WWLTV
“ They deliberated for five hours before returning a verdict.
Strain faces the following charges:
Aggravated Rape
Aggravated Rape
Aggravated Rape
Aggravated Rape
Aggravated Incest
Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile
Aggravated Incest
Sexual Battery”
I’m always torn with people being found guilty of decades old crimes such as this. It seems more he said she said to me after 20-30 years. I have not really followed the trial much, just saw this come across my feed.

He's about to get his prison name. Jack Hammered.

It is, but honestly if you think about it. If there isn’t much if any evidence it’s taking one persons word over the others.

I bet he wishes his lawyers would have mounted a defense instead of resting once the prosecution was done presenting their case.

On the one hand, frick that guy if he really did all of that.
On the other, never spend time alone with children that aren't yours, because you have no defense if they decide to frick you over years later.

I don't think I could ever convict someone for offenses that occurred 30 years ago where the alleged victim(s) were still alive and failed to come forward. Too much chance for a wrongful conviction.

I guess he figured he can win an appeal?

Guy was raping children .. frick em.
If he had a defense he would have said something.

That’s why you have a trial. Obviously serious enough to have mandatory life sentence for several of the things he was found guilty of.

I agree with you. If that was what he was doing then by all means, hang him.
But why keep in close contact with him throughout your entire adult life? Why not when you hit 18 years old say nah frick this guy and go turn him in?
I think the defense thought the jury would look at it that way too.

you basically have to accept 5 men are all lying.
Reading what they said, it all seemed to be pretty consistent.
jury took 5 hours ..

What if you sat through a trial and heard sufficient evidence? Multiple witnesses against him. You'd have to believe there was some grand conspiracy to get him. And I don't think it all happened thirty years ago.

I get the hesitancy, as a general thing, to convict people for crap from 30 years ago.
Strain's guilty, though, even if it doesn't completely come across in a newspaper article. It's necessary in judging him to consider who's doing the accusing, how many of them there are, and even whether or not the defendant looks the part.

In this case it is taking 5 or 6 people's word over the one accused.
