Harrington & Richardson Topper® Junior in 20 gauge

Got one like the first one, from my grandfather, when I turned 12.

Weight 5-6 lbs.

The weight is her friend in terms of recoil. Light youth size 20’s can pack a wallop.

Weight is problem though. She can handle the recoil. It’s the toting it through the swamp for a few hours that is the issue.

I want her to enjoy hunting so is there a better option that I’m over looking?

Get “her” a Beretta A400 20Ga. Light gun and low recoil. Get a sling for it to pack around. Let her know if y’all breakup it’s stays with you.

Remington Nylon 66 with a cheap scope. They used to be dirt cheap, but getting more expensive, but very light.

Youth 20 gauge, a weatherby SA 28gauge or a ruger or tc 10/22 with a 3x9x40 scope

Step her over to a 28 gauge. She will love it and love you for it. You might even have to buy a second one for those times when she won't let you borrow hers.

This. It’s December, leaves are off the trees, and I much prefer using a .22 regardless if it’s early or late in the season.

I don’t particularly care to bite into lead shot when I eat squirrel. Besides, it’s a challenge.

I like this idea as she wants me to learn to turkey hunt with her also

Get her a Savage 301 410 single shot turkey gun. They only weigh 5lbs and are excellent for turkey and will outperform a 20 guage with the right load.
