HELP NEEDED

I last heard from a friend in LaPlace an hour ago that they were trapped upstairs with her and her parents and water was quickly rising. They are at 153 Belle Grove Dr. If anyone is in the area with a boat to help it’d be appreciated!

Blutarsky God bless ... my brother is a former lineman; changed roles with his coop. Stay safe and rested (if you can).

Friend just posted on FB ... CAjun Navy is in LaPlace.

Call 504-517-6289 OR 985-850-4638 ... need to know where, how many, any pets, any special needs.

Says to leave message and contact number if they don't answer.

I've also seen people say that they saw posts on NextDoor .. not sure what that is though.

Good luck.

Why are you trying to dump your condo off on someone else in a thread that is advertising to help people in need? Bad taste, poor form. Truly a p.o.s post

I can go clean out all the generators available in my area and head down Wednesday.
I don’t think anyone realizes how bad it is.

I know people don't like doing it but if there's an urgent need for help you'll have to post some information.

Odds are they don't have service right now. Its spotty in AP bith Verizon and att and we didn't get 1/4 of the shite they did.

I evacuated from NOLA to Lafayette for the storm but will be heading back this morning if the roads are clear. Plan to stop at Costco on my way out for water and non-perishables. If you are in Greater New Orleans or the surrounding areas and need food/ water please let me know.

Should you run a side by side fridge/freezer with medium duty extenaion cords? What about an 8,000 btu window unit? Lastly, I bought carbon monoxide detectors but stupid me got what they had and it has to plug in. Can that be accurately run off an extension cord or can the battery backup do the job by itself?

Thanks.

I think it depends how long the run is. How long are the cords?

Probably 50 feet total. Trying to position the generator 20 feet from doors and windows. I'm mostly concerned about the supposed fire hazard I've been reading about with insufficient cords. Not certainif that is overblown.

12 gauge wire is optimal. Don't go with anything less than 14 gauge for a 50' run.
