Tall Order for Woodward

New PMAC/Facilities is the goal. Yes it will take time. We all assume KM demanded facility upgrades as part of the move. With men’s basketball fielding relevant teams and Km’s resume, WW and KM will have some backing and pull to get a new facility or at minimum big grades.
But let’s say it’s agreed to get a new PMAC
How it starts?
1. Build Track and Field a new stadium (they’ve earned it. LSU is and will forever be a track and field school. They are wrecking shet this year. Likely to set new totals records.)
2. Build new PMAC/Basketball facilities where current track is. This will likely have input from gymnastics and volleyball ( unless they decide to keep them playing in the PMAC and make upgrades like that. DD still has pull here) as well, but the majority of the input will come from basketball woman’s and men’s.
3. If they decide to tear down the PMAC after the new facility is built. Move Mike’s habitat maybe make it bigger.
4. Finish closing in Tiger Stadium.
Nearly every sport wins during this.

Unnecessary.

Does LSU have access to the same money printer as the federal government?

It's not even very old, and is already quite large.
I think it would make more sense to work out a deal with the River Center. Play sports there for 1-2 years while the PMAC is rebuilt or substantially upgraded.

Yes they do... it’s called the donors.

The same could have been said about baseball a few short years ago.

We can’t even fill the setup we have now. I’d rather use the money on upgraded parking and access to the stadium, seat backs for more of the stadium, etc. anything to better the fan experience

No reason to close in Tiger Stadium. How about upgrade the bathrooms and concession stands. That’s a better spend.

It really is unnecessary. There's what 4 home games with a packed house, and it empties out at half anyway. Remember how bama took a whole section of their upper deck and turned it into adspace? That's what this would probably turn into

Unless you are doing a small sections of suites in the north endzone then it doesn't need to be closed in... Suites are the only thing right now that would be in demand. (I don't even know if that is true.)
I would love to see a new basketball and track facility built. A rectangular arena with suites and 10K seats on top of the court to maximize the noise.

The upper decks were built to have a curve into the south end zone and that’s why we filled it in. The north side doesn’t have that curve. Plus if you close it in, the skyline doesn’t have the view of the river, bridge, and state capital. I don’t think we will ever close in the north end zone. The money should go towards other things.

It you've listened to Wade talk today, as well as over the years, you'll see a new stadium is not the biggest facility upgrade wants. LSU could renovate it to include suites (which I think is what he wants rather than a completely new stadium). But that is not priority No. 1. Wade has been beating the drum for 4 years to renovate the practice facility to make it an all encompassing site for the basketball programs. That is practice courts, players' lounge, bigger locker rooms, coaches' offices, and weight/training facility ALL in one building. Similar to what the football (and to some degree the baseball team) already has. Many schools have an all in one basketball facility.
Right now the coaches' offices are in one place on campus. The weight room in in another (bottom of north endzone in TS). Essentially all the practice facility is two big practice courts and a relatively small locker room/meeting room. Wade is so manically detailed oriented that he gathered data to show that the basketball players/program waste the equivalent of 5 days a year just walking to and from the various sites

Stadium is large enough. Make concession and internal improvements.

I don’t think Tiger Stadium needs to be able to fit 112,000 people but once every couple of years

Wade recently said they have all the space they needs it’s about reworking it.
You may see a remodeling of the PMac and a significant remodel of the practice facilities to add offices, better weight rooms and lockers etc...

What if anything has been done to the old dorms in the stadium? I always thought this could be converted to a luxury environment (with a hell of a lot of work because it used to be a pit). You could also upgrade food services to focus on Louisiana's best. Louisiana is known for good food not Aramark).
