Big Mama can throw down. You won’t find better soul food. I wish I was close enough to eat there more often.

It looked like more of a wet seasoning like in this picture from Sammy Crawfish King, than one they shake on.

Well, thanks for your lovely response, anyway, Clovis.

Ended up going to Parish. Great menu. Ended up getting a cauliflower app to share that was on special that night and was skeptical at first but it was fantastic. Shared Brussels also...very good. Chose redfish on the half shell topped with lump crabmeat very very good also. Would have chosen the duck or steak had it not been a Friday in Lent. The wife got shrimp and grits so I got to try it. Good grits, great shrimp. Overall great experience. I would definitely recommend it.

I have never understood how a town like Monroe can have so many quality dinning options.

Per Capita Monroe has more restaurants, and more non-chain restaurants, than any city in Louisiana. True story

I think you may be right.

Certainly outside of New Orleans, no other city in the state can compete.

New Orleans has many more white table cloth dining options - but per capita, Monroe easily takes the crown for best overall dining options in the state.
