Heading to Monroe today and will be staying close to ULM campus until Saturday. Any good restaurant recommendations?

Any certain type of food? Waterfront is right near campus and is good. Just don't get the gumbo. Other good places:

Warehouse
Parish
Genusas
Mohawk
Cotton
Does
Trapps
Char 19
Enochs (burger/bar food)

I’ve had good meals at Does, Cotton, Enochs. Fieldhouse is right by campus for decent bar food. Balls had a lot of good suggestions there.

Yeah, everybody around Monroe assumed it was Nagem since he boiled at Portico during the shutdown.

Is it really good? What's all that stuff all over all of the seafood and sides? It doesn't look appealing to me.

Does the boiled seafood have flavor without all of that or do they boil bland and they cover it with whatever that is?

I wasn't impressed with Trapps. Warehouse is delicious though. As is Doe's.

It’s been five years since I’ve lived there so defer to others for dinner spots.

Monroe punches above its weight class in terms of food scene. I didn’t love my time there but I was a stranger in a strange land

Kitchen and Sam’s are some bomb arse meat and threes if you need a lunch spot.

You're right that Trapps food is not going to knock your socks off. But it is a good lunch spot, and a nice place to eat right there on the river.

I also was told that Sammy Nagem owned that crawfish place. I havent eaten there but heard it's pretty good...

Yes, I found it to be quite good. Hence my post saying it was good.

It’s garlic and seasoning. They shake some seasoning on the outside, as do most crawfish places in this state. It’s not my ideal method, but it’s the way they do it. I will say my platter was not nearly as heavily seasoned as that. It’s just a stock photo from the internet.

Sorry man. But I don’t really care

Actually no that’s not it. There was a soul food joint my boss loved on that side of town. Let me try to figure it out

Edit: big momma’s is it
