I get McDonalds maybe twice a month. I would probably get it more but the service sucks.

I eat fast food about twice per month. It's a guilty pleasure but something I only do occasionally.

Y’all act like it’s a huge chore to avoid fast food.

There are nights when both our kids have something going on when it is a huge chore. Wife and I both work, and those nights we sometimes don't get home until after 9. That happens maybe once or twice a semester though, so more the exception than the rule.

Otherwise, I agree. We don't eat fast food all that often.

Yeah you do. It was probably yesterday.

I think it's the mainstream national fast food chains that no one eats at around here. I can't remember the last time I had McDonald's, Burger King, or Subway. They are all garbage and bland tasting.

Now Cook Out, Zaxby's, or Chick-Fil-A, then we're talking!

For subs give me Publix. Firehouse, or Jersey Mike's. They blow Subway out of the water!

All these people claiming they don’t eat fast food are probably eating crap at home daily that is equally as unhealthy.

One of my best friends as a kid had a grandmother who was pushing 375 pounds. or more. She cooked 3 meals a day at home. And she pounded soda and sweet tea like you wouldn't believe. If she didn't cook a meal, it was huge footling hoagies for lunch. Even "healthy" foods like vegetables were cooked with fat or grease.

Everything she cooked was with lard or bacon grease. She had a huge mason jar on a window sill by the stove filled with bacon grease. She was a very nice woman l, but she is one of the biggest people I've ever personally been around for a lot of time. Her food was fricking amazing too. It was just amazingly unhealthy at the same time.

I've had more than my share of fast food but I honestly haven't been to a fast food restaurant in over a year.

The thing about fast food is that once you take any real interest in nutrition it becomes one of the first things to go.

People who make a conscious effort to eat healthy and avoid fast food are typically rather intelligent and understand nutrition.

Yes definitely, people who make a conscious effort to eat healthy have a general understanding.

Not as many as you’d think though. My wife (no pics) is a dietitian and is getting her PhD and she gets A LOT of off the wall questions from “Heath and fitness enthusiasts” that shows they may not understand things quite like they think they do.

And no, it’s very easy to avoid fast food. Just like it’s very easy to buy healthy snacks and food at the grocery store but not everyone does that.
