I’m honestly surprised looking back at it.

What crucial games were loss & what games could have gone the other way with just one bounce?

@UT 2013. We lost and were heavily favored.
AU 2011. At home. Same as the UT game - we were heavily favored but just looked awful.

In both games our normally solid offense just didn't show up and there was only so much our defense could do alone.

We won the division title in 2010. As far as I'm concerned we coulda woulda shoulda won it 3/4 years from 2010-2013 if not all 4 years outright but we fricked it up.

We by far had the best overall and inter-divisional record among the East teams over that period which included 3 top 10 finishes including one in the top 5. We had future NFLers all over the field.

Only positive is that the AU performance would be Garcia's last start as Shaw would take over from there on out.

ETA: I don't know what was in Spurrier's head in that UT game. By far the worst game I had seen him coach. There was a point in that game when it was 4th and long and we were pinned deep on our side of the field. Spurrier called 2 timeouts because he was thinking about going for it only to decide to punt it anyway.

ETA #2: 2012 Was at least a little more excusable losing to #9 LSU and #3 UF on the road.

ETA #3: We beat the eventual East champion head to head in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

As you can probably still tell I'm forever ticked about the 1 division title and it came from teh weakest of the 4 teams.

The 2011 Auburn loss was gut wrenching. Losing to UT in 2013 was almost as bad, but we've had heartbreaking loss after heartbreaking loss to them through the years in Knoxville, so it wasn't as big of a shock to me.

2011 AU - played like shite and on the wrong side of a few 50/50 calls

2012 LSU - Shaw throws a pick late 4th quarter and Hill busts a 50 yd TD on the next play

2012 UF - Played them on the road right after the emotional loss @ LSU

2013 UTk - We give up a 40 yd bomb that sets up the Vols for a GW field goal. One of Spurrier's worst coached games.

We lose every possible way.

They used to be a very tough team to beat. That SC LSU game in 2012 was fun. One of many reasons we need 9 SEC games! Give us more cross division matchups.

Their turnoverpalooza against Florida in 2012 was just bizarre.

I just watched the SEC Storied on Spurrier last night, pretty impressive what he was able to do at South Carolina.

2011 Auburn and 2013 @Tennessee were the two worst losses of the Spurrier tenure. Cost us two division titles.

Losses to Auburn in 11 and LSU in 12 kept them out of the SEC Championship Game those years.

They had some very good teams from 2010-2013. Their Dline was physical and they always whipped us on the LOS. Our 5 game skid to them was a big motivator in changing the outlook of the program, and becoming what we are now.

A genuine testament to how good the ole ball coach was. USC was really tough the vast majority of his tenure. It always surprised me that they hired a lame Muschamp as his replacement instead of a progressive offensive coach like Spurrier.
