I really hate to do this, as I've heard nothing but great things about the place, service, and food.

I live about 10 min from there and decided to head over there for the first time tonight. Pulled up, the lady was very friendly, and ordered my food.

She then proceeds to tell me...
quote:

I'm sorry we're out of chicken right now, it'll be about 20 minutes until we can cook some more.

I mean, I understand not having certain items on the menu and things do happen...but not enough chicken coming through the line?!?!

I will give it another try though...hopefully the next time they have chicken...

ETA: I realize that these things happen...maybe it was my misundestanding that I interpreted it as a fast food location since it operates with two drive ups and was in a bit of a hurry...

Ive waited at a Cane's drive thru for 15 minutes while they fry up some more chicken.....her mistake was just admitting to you that they were out of chicken.

I would actually be happier to be told that there's no chicken ready than to have already paid and to have to wait at a drive thru for fresh chicken.

At least she was honest.

meh, it sucks to wait but i think it would of been worth it unless you were in some kind of rush. fresh chicken that was just fried is well worth the 20 min wait.

And I did appreciate that...which is why I'll return...

Just don't see why you aren't constantly cooking fresh chicken so that there is only a 5-10 min wait...

Do what I do...(especially since the chicken tenders are always made to order)...CALL AHEAD and they will have it ready for you by the time you get there!

Sweet! Didn't know they would do this being a "fast food" type establishment...

I'll certainly do it next time...

I've been to Taco Bell and was told they were out of onions, chicken, beef, beans on several different occasions. I suggested someone could run to the store and buy an onion and they thought I had flipped my lid.

Because there's no way to know when things are going to be slow. Probably better to make someone wait 20 minutes, instead of giving them some chicken dropped in the grease an hour ago that's been sitting under a heat lamp.

The Church's on Highland used to make people wait all the time, and they were always busy.

First off I am sorry about that. Can you give me a time for this. I am trying to square away my night crew right now. We just hired a new night manager and last night he was not there. again I am sorry.

I had to wait 10 mins when I went, but it was worth it. Everything was hot and fresh.

For what its worth, I have had to wait 10-15 mins for chicken at Popeyes, KFC, Cane's...you get my drift. This is not only a Frickin Chicken problem; it happens at other establishments, as well.

shite happens .. you might have gone at a slow time of night and they don't wanna have an assload of chicken cooked sitting under the heat lamps drying up ... if it doesn't get bought, they have to throw it away and that goes hard against the bottom line ...

you just hit them at a bad time with their pants down, but as other posters said, she was honest with you and you should appreciate that ..

I have been to Popeyes when they tell you that it will be 10-15 min for the chicken that they have to drop a fresh batch. I never complain about that because you always get the best chicken possible.

:kige:

The Popeye's in Houma always runs out like this and you have to wait at least 10 minutes if you want spicy.

That being said, it's much better than the popeye's in BR because you get fresh delicious chicken.

I have a question for ya'll. Since having to wait about twenty minutes for a freshly prepared product a problem for the restaurant? I'd rather have a fresh product instead of something that was fried two hours ago. FWIW, there is a chicken joint that if they have any chicken left when it closes, they refrigerate it for the night and when it opens the next day, they drop it back in the grease for a total of six minutes. Man people bitch when they are served a product that was prepared way before hand and bitch when they have to wait to get something fresh.
