I did as well. Had a morning flight and had hot beignets and cafe au lait for breakfast.

The Gulfstream was undergoing annual maintenance so my sous chef flew in from Paris on busoness class. He raved about the airport too.

The airport isn't bad at all, it just needs some tweaking (which is to be expected from such an endeavor as a whole new airport). If they can ever get a fly-over done and make a separate entrance/exit for pick-ups/arrivals then it will get a whoooooole lot better.

And some better signage on the doors and “zones” for the shuttle bus and other pickup areas. Not a difficult fix at all.

If you can still park in the same old parking lots and it’s just a short walk, why are people saying there needs to be another exit or new roads or whatever?

Baggage claim takes way too long still for some flights. Traffic is much worse than what it was at the old airport

I used it 2 weeks ago and it was a solid mess. Driving to the terminal was slow as molasses. They had to use policemen and airport staff to ask you if you were uber, pickup, dropoff, or parking. It was Louisiana at it's finest: making the traffic worst than better getting to the airport. Maybe it's all straight now??????

Everyone on TD has been saying for weeks what a success it's been, to the dismay of a lot of people who were so upset they didn't have a good reason to be shitting on the airport and city. How well it's been going triggered a bunch of douchebags

Imagine bitching about being upgraded from Armstrong. You have to be a miserable fricking person to complain about that.

I've used the new airport 3 times since it's opened. I've had zero problem with traffic.

Wife went for a flight last week, parked in a long term lot, got shuttled to terminal and on plane with no problems. I had her read the thread about all the problems beforehand and she even got there almost two hours early “due to all the problems” people were complaining about on here. Had 45 minutes to spare before plane boarded.

The only think I didn’t like was the process of getting a rental car.

New Orleans has a crown jewel with this airport.

Why would anyone fly out of Baton Rouge when New Orleans airport is more convenient and efficient?

Something needs to be done about the sun in the evening. Everything is glass and it’s frigging blinding

The best thing people can say about the new food court with airplane gates is they had no problem.

It is a new building that cost over a billion dollars and is a no more convenient or efficient than the old one. It is less convenient for those needing car rentals or choose off site parking.

The baggage belts are essentially the same as the old terminal and so are the gate ramps. A facelift on the old terminal would have been fine.

It was not needed and was and is a political boondoggle.

I wish they would let southwest move back into the old terminal and let them upgrade whatever part of the terminal they want out of their pocket. We could then really expand. It will be foolish to tear down most of the old terminal.
