Didn’t Bama beat #3 FSU to open the season a couple years ago?

I don’t recall the playoff committee saying that was a top 3 win after they lost their QB and 6 games.

Because it wasn't. Just like ours isn't a top 10 win against Texas. It was a top 10 matchup at the time but that's not how its looked at.

We have some clowns around here.

LSU was once ranked in the Top 10 in 1998

7 teams got a Top 10 win against them

So LSU plays a 9th ranked Texas team, beats them, and they drop to 12th...so the idiots here start saying they aren’t a top 10 opponent....sad!

If UT had Orgeron as head coach they’d be in the top 4.

If they are missing 9 starters do you take that into your county count?

Um....does the playoff committee take injuries into account when picking teams in the playoff if said players will return? Yes? Then that is exactly how it works.

It TX wins out

It's highly unlikely they'll win out.

Look at their remaining schedule:

Kansas St
@ Iowa St
@ Baylor
Texas Tech

I can visualise them winning one, and probably no more than two, of their remaining games. 6-6 or 7-5 is a real possibility for this overated Longhorns team

If another team beat Texas and they finished 8-4 or 7-5, no one here would be calling it a great win

You need to stop this way of thinking. When we played them, they were a top 10 team. That's the only metric you can use. If they had beat us, they would be too 15 right now. As for Auburn and Georgia, take away their loss to us, they would be top 10.

when LSU played them they were.So does that mean any ranked team you play during the course of a season doesn't count as a good win if they fall out of the rankings several weeks after you beat them?
It can still be a "good win", but clearly it's lost some of its luster. This shouldn't be even vaguely controversial or hard to understand.

Thats not what anyone is saying. Youre leaving out the fact that they have since lost 2 more. One being to an unranked TCU team and the other to a team that lost to Kansas St. They are 5-3. This is like hanging your hat on beating aggy.... come on guys.

You are the exact reason that human bias needs to go... you can’t compare Texas now and when we played them. We played them as a top 10 matchup, doesn’t matter if they lose out for the rest of the season. You still have to count it as a top 10 road win
