What type of garden hose do you own/recommend?

Looking to replace a couple hoses and it just seems it is hit and miss finding a good quality Jose that doesn’t kink or leak at the fittings. Even moderate to higher priced hoses I have bought in the past were complete garbage. Anyone have a brand that they swear by?

Every hose I’ve bought in the last 10 years has been complete shite.

they are all short life span, just buy the cheapest one that has the hex style fittings, i find those dont leak on you.
pretty much expect to buy a new hose every 2 years no matter what you spend on them

Yes I’ve had my current one for 3 years. Still doing well and no kinks! The neverkink brand

About 8 months ago I bought a Dramm hose because I saw them used at a local nursery...so far, so good.
Gilmore also makes good hoses.

Look for the black rubber Continental hoses, they are about the only decent ones a HD or Lowes carry without going online for something. Keeping them in a covered reel or put away out of sunlight makes a difference too.

Neverkink? I think that’s the name. Been good so far, at least 4 years and still no leaks or cracks on it.

Get a regular rubber hose (Goodyear, Firestone, Continental, etc). Don't buy one that makes any promises, because they are all lies. If it says it won't kink, it'll come kinked.
I've got a neverkink that has stayed kinked from day one. Also, they use aluminum fittings that get stuck on the spigot, and you have to heat them up with a torch to get them off. IDGAF about what other posters say, do not buy a neverkink hose

Another vote for the Flexzilla. I was skeptical at first, because of how cheap they can be bought off Amazon...but they've worked out great. And we put ours through the ringer at the recreation park- washing down mowers and filling sprayers, etc

I’ve been having the Craftsman black rubber hoses for years, they’re good. Last one I bought was a red rubber hot water hose, I like it just as much. They both can kink but so can the “kink free” ones too.

There's always three price points. Get the best its that simple. A good hose should last you ten or more years .Keep it loosely coiled properly

I bought an Ace brand they advertised as never kink and heavy duty. It has really nice fittings and has been a good hosepipe.
It was like 40 bucks for 50 foot. I don't know who makes it for them but it is nice and heavy.

I have the rubber Goodyear hoses around the house and have 0 issues.
At the camp I have the Zero G because it doesn't leave scuff marks all over the gunnels of my boat when I clean it. 0 issues but its fairly new.

Buy hot water hose. Expensive as hell but will ast 20 + years.

Fwiw I’ll never buy a rigid hose again. Went with one of those expanding slinky hoses and it’s so much better. Have had for 6 months with no problem.
I hear they fail easily but they’re cheap enough to not care.

Goodyear. It’s black rubber and it’s the best hose I’ve ever owned.
