I worked in Denver for almost 2 years... flew out a bunch and never had any trouble getting through their one security check point.

Charlotte has multiple checkpoints, but they all enter one, single secured area.

correct and for $900 billon less than we spent on a new terminal we could have the same if we wanted. We certainly could have on for terminal c and d and another for A&B.

Why would they be? The heavy construction part is over. They may have Broadmoor doing some of the smaller scale stuff.

I fly in and out of Denver. TSA certainly is no quicker there than at MSY. (they have 3 checkpoints BTW).

Give me an example of which airport with only one TSA checkpoint handling the flights MSY handles or more that you think has better TSA service than MSY?

And Denver has a ton more flights. One check point is better.

I don’t know. I never said they were.

And Broadmoor is still owned by Boh if I’m not mistaken. Correct?

Then you'd know that DEN has two TSA checkpoints and is a hub airport.

I fly through PreCheck there and the employees know WTF they're doing.

They could have built a flyover all the way to the existing terminal from i-10 and refurbish the old terminal for less than they spent on this black hole.

Traffic from the interstate has NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE at the old terminal, at least since they built the access road years ago.

There would have been little need for further road construction if they had overhauled the old facility or even if they built something new on that same side.

NO doubt there will be a large turnover on food vendors. Why do people think that a new terminal will have the traffic to support more vendors????

It's not like people are going to say "let's fly to New Orleans so we can eat at the airport".

I hate Pralines is not going over. Got to be the only place in the world you can get chicken livers and pepper jelly in an airport.

Well we had 13 million people passing through the airport in 2018 thanks to a 159 flights per day in New Orleans. New Orleans is the 3rd fastest growing airport in North America only behind Dallas & Austin in the number of Enplanement growth.

By 2025 the New Airport is projected to have almost 7 million enplanements. We had 5.5 million enplanements in 2016

It actually does back up on the service road around to the light at Airline and Glazer Access. So much so that at busy times if you enter the airport at the west entrance off airline, you can't make the left into the arrival/departure ramps and must go all the way around the access road to veterans so they can keep the light green.

Million hoss. 900 million. Current MSY is a gigantic piece of shite. We needed a new terminal and it’s going to be great for the area.

Boh Bros has been in business for over 100 years and built a reputation for being able to handle large complicated jobs and deliver them on time and under budget.

Their scope on this project is paving and utilities. They are not the reason the job is delayed.

And FWIW there are a lot of really good construction companies working on the project.

The only reason why I begrudgingly support the new terminal is that any rational person will tell you MSY is terrible for any traveler, tourist or business. It's dimly lit, outdated, dirty, and overall gives people visiting a city that relies on tourism a bad first impressio

MSY is the worst airport I’ve been to in a place that is considered a popular destination
