Has anyone mentioned that his package is clearly visible in that picture?

How does this make sense for the Raiders? They got rid of their young star receiver last year and aren't going to be relevant during Brown's remaining years. The Steelers must have had no takers considering they were demanding a first and refused to trade within the conference.

Theres no way youre genuinely excited about this. Brown is a headcase that maybe 1 or 2 teams were even thinking about

Crazy to think Pittsburgh has lost Brown and Bell who were both under long-term contracts for a 3rd and 5th round pick.

Eating that $21 million in dead money as well so not as if they freed up a ton of cap room.

I would have kept Brown and then waited for him to breach his contract or fail a drug test.

People keep thinking that Cooper was some great wr in Oakland, he wasn’t. The guy dropped so many passes that hit him right in the hands. It was best for both parties to move on and getting a first for him was the icing on the cake. I’m not sure I want AB on the team because we need locker room leaders on this team not headcases but I’m happy to we didn’t give up more for him

Damn Mike Mayock putting in work. That’s all he had to give up for AB?

not sure what you're looking at, but this is a pretty good deal for the Raiders. The no new years added to the contract part is pretty big

I don't get why anyone is praising the Raiders for this trade like they pulled one over on the Steelers. Antonio Brown basically nuked any leverage the Steelers would have. He literally told Buffalo he wouldn't report if they agreed to a trade.

AB won:

quote:

PITTSBURGH -- All the Pittsburgh Steelers were left with after dealing arguably the game's best wide receiver were a few modest draft picks and $21 million in dead money.

Antonio Brown pulled off a savage power play, sabotaging his own trade value while making himself untenable in Pittsburgh on his way to earning nearly $20 million in raises and more than $30 million in guarantees from the Oakland Raiders.

Brown's body slam off the top rope left the Steelers with minimal options. They wanted a first-round pick but would have done a deal days ago if they had it. Brown's behavior in interviews and on social media, coupled with his contractual demands, handcuffed the team, which already had worsened the dead-money hit by restructuring Brown's deal a year ago.

The whole mess was quicksand for Pittsburgh, which had the option to hold onto Brown and fine him all offseason, knowing Brown wouldn't retire or he would be forced to pay back more than $11 million in signing-bonus money. But both the Steelers and Brown knew they didn't want the headache of having him on the roster. Cutting him would have saved up to $15 million in cap space, but then Brown would be free to sign with a chief rival.

LOL

The Steelers were mulling over which 1st round/2nd round picks they were being offered in deals, so the media stated.

F'in Sports media is as shite as news media.

That’s not the media, that’s what the Steelers were leaking to the media to try and get that.

Impressive that the Raiders didn't have to give up any of those 1st round picks for him. Now we wait to see if they kick Carr to the curb....bc you know Toe Tap Tony is gonna bitch about him sooner or later if he stays.

I don’t think it’s surprising. Very few teams were interested in him.

Came here to eat crow. I’ve said a few times that AB was screwing himself and the Steelers over.

Sounds like he won the game. That’s way more guaranteed money than I thought he’d get and he was able to steer the trade on a direction he wanted it to go.

I thought he was an idiot. I was wrong. Well played AB.

Their rebuild has been pretty smart so far, we will see if Carr can regain that form or not.
