Should I turn over my accident to an attorney?

I was recently involved in a car accident where the person behind me ran into the back of me. He was in a big pickup truck and I was in a small car.
I was very sore for two weeks afterward and I still have some slight discomfort in my back and neck. I went to the doctor a couple days after the accident when I started feeling bad and they said it was a neck and back sprain (basically whiplash). Told me to go back if it didn't get better in 5 days.
It didn't get better so I went back for a more thorough examination and they still said it was all muscular and nothing to worry about. That gave me peace of mind to know it wasn't anything serious.
Well now I've accrued upwards of $200 worth of doctor bills that I've paid out of pocket and missed a couple days of work. I've sent the medical claims adjuster copies of my receipts and medical records and gave her the time of day I'm available to talk (my lunch hour).
She has tried calling me three times so far and each time was HOURS outside of the window I told her I'd be available. I understand I can't realistically expect her schedule to mesh with mine but dammit I can't be expected to step out of the office to take her call at odd hours of the day. Especially when my employer doesn't allow personal phone calls except in the rare instance it's a real emergency.
I want my money back. Should I just hand it over to an attorney? I'm sure an attorney would get her attention and would settle this probably with one phone call. I hate to go that route but at this point I'd feel like I would be paying an attorney to basically get it taken care of for me so I don't have to deal with it.
What's y'all's opinion?

No, getting an attorney wouldn't "settle this with one phone call". It would create even more delays, and if you're only out $200 and a couple days of work, you're not going to find a decent, competent attorney to take the case on contingency if there is no larger $$ to recover. A good attorney will charge you to get involved.
Seriously, the only possible time you can talk is at lunch? No early AM, no later in the evening? Sure, you can't talk while you're at work, but you're not at work 24 hrs a day (apologies if you are a firefighter at the station 24/7 for a 3/4 day period). Call/email/text and suggest a broader range of times that will work for you.

At this point a lawyer is just going to prolong the process even further. I'd wait until I can talk to the medical adjuster before going that route. And with just two doctor's visits and a couple days missed work, the quality of lawyer you'll get to take the case may not be the best. Can't you call her now? I'd just keep calling her on your time every chance you get. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Get an attorney if you want someone to suggest you get a spinal fusion, become addicted to opioids and commit suicide

So you can't take a phone call to handle a serious matter, but you can post on an internet message board?

Just work it out with the adjuster. They will pay your more than you need.

Having experience in the claims world this is baby money. Your 200 dollars in medical bills and couple days of lost work is not even a drop in the bucket. Spend 10 minutes negotiating with the adjuster and you can easily walk out with 2k in your pocket and be done with it.
Also, please don’t google ways to increase an injury claim and tell the adjuster you pissed yourself after the accident. It does absolutely nothing for your claim and makes you look like the retarded Culcha trash that’s plagues the state of Louisiana
Might I ask what insurance company your dealing with?

I wouldn’t sign anything until you are asymptomatic. You are probably going to be sore for a few weeks to months

No. Some people are entitled...

Of course you get an attorney. Your neck could hurt the rest of your life, and it could alter your life.

The insurer of the at-fault driver should pay you for all your medical expenses (not just your out of pocket).
This is called the collateral source rule. The fact that you were smart enough to have health insurance is not to their benefit.
Of course, you are also entitled to additional compensation for your pain, suffering and inconvenience, plus lost wages (if any) and the like.

See what the opening offer is. Call a lawyer for a free consult and see what they think they can get.

Have you tried calling her back? Or emailing her?
First off, it's obvious the truck is liable. So liability is not in question. Second, You've stated that you accrued $200 of medical bills. You do not need an attorney for that, that is for small claims court. No attorney will take your case, and if they did it won't be in one quick phone call and you would need to pay them yourself.
Call back the insurance rep. Since liability is not in question, they should have no problems paying you your claim. They want this over with more than you do.
