Looked like this I’m sure

Probably domestic violence. That isn't that bad of a neighborhood I don't believe. Maybe I'm confusing it with another one.

Too close for comfort...too close to home

Is that considered part of Sherwood Forest?

dont think that part of Sherwood Forest is bad. Maybe things have changed since the flood though.

Sherwood is a such a large neighborhood that it seems to have nice sections and some not so nice. Kind of like Shenandoah. Still not an area where I'd expect to see a murder. Domestic stuff can happen anywhere obviously.

Damn. I was driving right by there not long ago. Could have been me

It’s very large. Sections closer to Flannery aren’t as nice.

This particular street and those surrounding it are within the nicest section of Sherwood Forest. The demographics have changed since the flood. There is now a large Asian American and African American presence there. Its very well maintained with a strong sense of pride with the residents

we have a fair amount of cultured individuals wander through. most of the problems come from human sewage leaking out of the surrounding low-rent appartments

My grandmother lives around Sherwood Middle. That is still a nice area but it is getting older though

This sounds much more like a Jody-related crime. That is not a culcha'd up area.

Really close to STM school. Makes me really uncomfortable.

it's a great area. there's even a guy who sleeps in what looks like an old guard shack at tara and goodwood.

Could be BR's first white murder victim in over a year?

Update

BATON ROUGE - A former school employee was murdered after driving her friend to a usually safe neighborhood Tuesday night.
Police say the shots were fired around 8 p.m. on Brookshire Avenue near Havenwood Drive. Baton Rouge police say Janessa Hartley was dropping off her friend at the time of the encounter.
After Hartley came to a stop, the gunman reportedly approached the two and tried to open the vehicle. After failing to open the locked door, the person apparently opened fire and struck Hartley.
The shooter then reportedly fled the scene.
Staff at St. Thomas More in Baton Rouge say Hartley worked there as a pre-school assistant up until about five years ago. They said she left her job to spend more time with her family.
Police say there are no known suspects nor a clear motive at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
Crime records suggest criminal activity is uncommon in the area.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to call police at (225)389-4869.
