it's a great area. there's even a guy who sleeps in what looks like an old guard shack at tara and goodwood.

You know that's 3 miles from this incident?

Probably domestic violence. That isn't that bad of a neighborhood I don't believe. Maybe I'm confusing it with another one.

It's not. Her husband is a well known IT Exec in BR IT circles. I knew him professionally a few years ago. Definitely not him.

Very tragic.

Tara and Goodwood is nowhere near the location of this shooting. Go down Goodwood, cross Airline. Go completely through Broadmoor, cross Sherwood and you are still a mile away.

Terrible situation, odd that she was dropping off but wasn’t driving. Sure there’s a logical reason just found it interesting

Newer articles say she was in the driver’s seat.

Yea she was dropping a friend off. Her and husband lived right across Goodwood on Fairhaven.

Look on a map how close they are to Blvd De Province to South and Flannery to the East. Easy walking distance between the two makes for crimes of opportunity by 'transient thugs' as I call them(regularly walking between two ghettos).

The first article I read said she was in the passenger seat (or something like that, alluding to not being in the driver’s seat). It was confusing.

This is scary as frick. You truly never know when your time is up.

Related to family. A very good person. I hope they catch the person who did this, soon.
So damn senseless.

This thread was started before we knew any details. Those apartments off of Flannery are bad now. Blvd de Province is a war zone.

This reminds me a lot of the Tennessee truck driver some piece of shite killed last year in the parking lot off of Florida. Totally random and senseless. The gunman needs to fry.

Mother in law lives 2-1/2 blocks away. 90+ years old. They built in 1968 and the neighborhood was very upscale for a long time -- businessmen, engineers, etc., but started to change some over the last decade as the generation that built the homes new died off or went into assisted living. Then the flood hit in 2016 and that part of the neighborhood (at the confluence of 3 canals) got about 3' of water. It's cleaned up now of course, but lots of houses for sale with not many buyers. Some minorities have bought homes, and by and large they are very nice people who are now able to get into homes maybe they would not have been able to afford a few years ago. But there is a lot of cut-through traffic from Florida Blvd to Blvd. de Province, and this could explain it.

It's a tragic situation and my condolences to the family involved.

I guess I'll be building a new gate for mom...
