Has anyone mentioned if the friend was a "guy friend?" Just because you know someone doesnt mean he wasnt involved. I'm not insinuating the husband had anything to with it. We also don't know all the details.

BVLD de province was were my brother lived back in the early 1980’s. I guess time takes it toll on the good neighborhoods. I lived on Woodcliff drive in the 1980’s. Lived next door to Jim Hawthorne. Would not drive through that area at night now days.

I'm sure I'm not alone in not getting your reference, or why you think it's funny.

Care to explain so you aren't the only one laughing?

Easy walking distance between the two makes for crimes of opportunity by 'transient thugs' as I call them(regularly walking between two ghettos).

That's kind of the weird thing. There isn't much thug traffic on foot. All the cut through criminals are usually in cars. Occasionally on bikes, but 95% in cars. Almost unheard of the have someone walking around in a ski mask with a gun. It's still a very quiet neighborhood.

The human compulsion is to assume that there must be something else at play, that the crime is attributable to a domestic situation or someone they knew. It's far harder to contemplate the fact that this may be completely random, which means it could have been any of us, and any of us could be next.

Scary.

Sorry Greg. I confused your wind turbine patent with the materials science post about thin solar film stuff.
I crossed my post-stalking wires.

You think husband put a hit on her?

This reminds me a lot of the Tennessee truck driver some piece of shite killed last year in the parking lot off of Florida. Totally random and senseless. The gunman needs to fry.

Was that the driver who was posting one night on the OT about parking his truck off Lobdell that night because he had a morning delivery?

This area got absolutely wrecked in the flood. Right between Jones Creek and Lively Bayou. It’s not a great place but I never thought it would be a spot for murders.

No but I remember that guy. He parked his truck off of North Ardenwood and asked the OT if it was a bad idea. Said it was starting to feel like he was in a bad area.

I know the family(and the victim) well. They are a fantastic family, and she was an absolutely wonderful person. Her oldest son is one of my good friends. They have been a big part of the stm family forever. This is a sensless tragedy.

The guy worried about parking in a shady area wasn’t the guy that got shot

Very sorry for your loss. My wife grew up on Queensbury. Great neighborhood and really nice neighbors.

I'm not sure who Mike L is, although he seems to know my name. Odd...

A friend of mine posted on FB that he'd lost his mom suddenly. Took me a bit but finally put the two together and saw this was her. He's a super nice guy.. What a horrible tragedy.

News said they have footage from a doorbell camera or nest cam or something. They need to put it on blast so we can find this motherfricker.

No. You were being an arrogant dickhead to posters one day last year so I decuded to find out who you were. It's a hobby of mine(see weird hobby thread yesterday).

Eta: it's not malicious. Just bored curiosity and a challenge.

That unfortunately appears to be the case, given what we know now. This was most likely a random crime of opportunity. Some piece of shite was wandering through this area on foot, perhaps seeking out a house to rob. Saw this car pull-up and made his move. There is no punishment harsh enough for this crime.

Wouldn't the passenger be able to give a description of the shooter?

Or maybe she did and the news isn't running with it, which is very telling.

add an E to Mike and last name starts will L. will be the first one to pop up on a FB search. . Go send me a message. I don't know you personally goober. I made a joke about solar gate for your MIL.

On topic, I was just in this neighborhood a few months ago for my son's football game at STM. I parked down the street and thought what a nice older neighborhood(we are in middle of househunting) for us to consider if it wasn't too far for my commute.
