What do you guys think? In the market for one and can’t seem to decide which to go with

I have a REC TEC that is better than an older Traegger.
It has a mucher bigger double hopper and a digital thermostat that is calibrated to 5 deg increments.
Both made great ribs and smoked pork, beef etc...

Bought a Camp Chef. Heard nothing but good things.
Haven’t cooked on it yet due to it being damaged when I got it in. To Camp Chef’s credit, it was through another site.

Yoder, but it'll cost you. Love mine. Great American craftsmanship.

I have a Green Mountain and have nothing but good things to say about it. If I were to do it again, I may go RecTec though, just for the bigger hopper and it looks nicer.

Question about pellet grills. My understanding is a smoke ring is produced in the first 4-5 hours of smoke, and anything more than that can make the bark bitter.
Wouldn't cooking with pellets for 6+ hours "over smoke" the meat?
I have an old brinkman vertical barrel smoker and stop the smoke after 5-6 hours, but would love the convenience of an automated pellet system. I have to reload the coals every 3 hours on the brinkman. Still debating between offset, pellet or kamado.

I bought the camp chef and have used it three times. It's the one with the digital thermometer probe that plugs in the unit. Press the button and it gives you the temp.
It came damaged cosmetically from Amazon but works fine. For 5 Bills it still sucks it was dented.
I've cooked a whole beef tenderloin, ribs, and two whole chickens. The temp probe was right on with the steak and the chicken that I used it on. I mainly run it on high smoke and the sear stuff on my gas grill.
Very happy with the purchase.

Bump
Looking to pick up a pellet grill this weekend. Anyone with a wifi Green Mountain? Not sure the wifi is worth the extra $$$, otherwise it seems like the Camp Chef is the best bang for the buck.

I have a MAK 2 Star General and have literally put 1.5 tons of pellets through it. I did change out the igniter to the new style which has a lifetime warranty. Also has a smoking box on the side for low temp smokes that makes excellent jerky.

Camp Chef is a very good and affordable pellet smoker. I use mine at least once every 2 weeks for almost 2 years and have never had any problems.

I bought a Camp Chef 24” ZG from Dick’s last weekend. It’s normally $600, but is on sale for $500 right now. I used a 20% off coupon that I found online, so I got the grill for $400. This grill gives you the best bang for your buck in my opinion. The reviews are great as well. I’ve used it twice already and couldn’t be happier.
