We could recruit all 25 spots from Minnesota, and what good would that do us?

If Coach Eaux, Aranda and Canada think the best 25 players are in Minnesota it will get LSU a damn good team. I trust their evaluation of players over yours.

Obviously I mean relative to our competition (Bama).

Bama is only ranked #6 in the 24/7 team rankings right now.

quote:

I mean LSU needs to have the ability to go into California and compete to get top guys, namely QBs

that's pretty stupid. Reference your Minnesota comment. Does a QB being from California make him better than one from Texas. Where is Bret Favre from? Drew Brees?

quote:

We have Orgeron, who coached in CA, and is a recruiting dynamo. What's the problem?

No problem, he is just smarter than you and realizes that what you propose is ridiculously stupid.

He did let Canada go talk to Corral within the last couple weeks. LSU didn't want. You would know that if you came to the recruiting board other than to troll and try unsuccessfully to knock the LSU coach.
quote:

just have a real problem with O saying that he doesn't need to recruit in CA heavily because there's so many studs right here in LA,

Doesn't matter if you have a problem with it or not. This shite has nothing to do with you and everything to do with Coach Eaux and staff building a championship team.

quote:

then guys like you throwing your hands up and saying "welp, it's a weak LA class." If it's a weak LA class then they need to shift gears and get the talent from other pipelines. A weak LA class is not an excuse.

Jesus dude, this was in your post that I am replying to.

By the way of LSU's 20 commits:
3 are from Texas
2 are from Florida
2 are from Mississippi
1 is from Massachusetts
1 is from California by way of Massachusetts
1 is from Alabama

Half the class is from "other pipelines". WTF ???

Well, to this point, for LSU standards this class is well below average.

Every recruiting guy I have heard this week has said that Canada was out recruiting, until bowl prep. started when both he and Aranda were pulled off of the recruiting trail. That's when the area recruiters like Ensminger and Tommy Robinson took over all the recruiting responsibilities. Just my opinion, but I think that is a misconception on the part of some

Get used to being very disappointed then. I bet the bowl game against Notre Dame with a chance to finish in the top 10 final rankings is killing you. Good !!! Ha Ha Ha Ha

The bowl game or the final "Top Ten" doesn't matter. Reality is that we have the record we have because our opponents were weak.

What is likely to happen is season after season of 3 and 4 losses (unless the SEC stays down, and then we'll end up like this year). My biggest fear is a bunch of decent seasons that are just enough to keep us from canning Coach O. I would rather get the misery over with quickly.

I’d prefer LSU to win but thus far the two pilllars of the O hire, cruiting and coordinators, are off to troubling starts

I have no idea what's true regarding Canada's future, but I thought his offense was ok. There were obviously struggles at times, but there were games where we saw a really good planning and execution. Some of the struggles can surely be attributed to personnel, too.

As for recruiting, I'm not sure if it's this particular year, or if it's just Orgeron's strategy on general, but it's definitely not what we're used to seeing. Orgeron seems to be placing a pretty significant bet on his, and his staff's, ability to evaluate talent. Only time will tell if it pays off.

No, the record is what it is because they beat the majority of teams on the schedule. Did you happen to check out the scores. It's not like they were close games.

In your feeble mind anyway.

Cry a river. Eaux is not going anywhere. Have you seen the O and D lines he is about to put on the field?

I'm just glad you are miserable. Especially since you are miserable for no reason.

So does Hannigriff hate the program too and want it to fail? He's the subject of this thread.

Hannigriff is the male version of Debbie Downer. The guy's not happy if he can't rain on someone's parade. What makes him an expert anyway? What's his creds? So, he's on the radio, I'd be more impressed if he played the game at a high level...looking at him, that's not likely. We've gone for stars in the past so everyone can beat their chests and say we have a Top 10 class and it left us with starting freshmen in our OL and Dl. Time to load up on Big Uglies and we did. Most had offers from big schools, incl, Bama.

It's not bullshite. People on this board know where Canada was and who he was visiting. Not a peep on Aranda. You are feeding yourself a big helping of bullshite.

I wasn't being negative about the class. I like it a lot. I was saying we normally don't have this many early commits and so many "hidden gem" type guys.

You want to post all of the pictures of LSU's defensive coordinator on the recruiting trail. Shouldn't take long to find all of them, I'll wait. Thanks in advance. Oh NEAUX, coach Eaux is running off Aranda. He sent him on fools errands where no one even had a camera.

You sound like Baghdad Bob. I must have missed the time in midseason when there were reports in the media, that the HC and Aranda almost came to blows, where the AD had to intervene because the HC wanted to fire Aranda five game into the season or the part of the post game press conference after the A&M game were the HC talked about a possible replacement DC.

You can spin it all you want but there have been multiple media sources including Mike Detillier who is personal friends with O that they expect Canada to be gone. Now maybe it won’t happen for a variety of reasons, namely cost since the Admins may not want to pay him but the only message board myth is that rumors of Canada leaving are created by message board posters.

NVM - I dropped into this convo, I may be missing some of the context, nuance and sarcasm.

There it is - if we beat someone (frickING AUBURN) then, they can't be that good, right? I mean, we beat them after all.

If we lose, it isn't because the opponent is strong, but we (mostly our head coach) suck, amirite?

This shite is getting old - I've been dealing with this since Negas wanted to fire Saban for losing to UAB - ironically, most of them are Sabanistas and want to fire any LSU coach not named Saban.

I understand. Some are suggesting that Canada is not our recruiting and that shows he’ll be gone after the Bowl. Bayou Bob aka Ree like all CheeriOs vehemently deny there is any problems with the relationship between O and Canada. And he tried to deflect that by saying Aranda is not our recruiting.

What needs did this class meet?

People keep talking about all this line depth we added but when's the last time our highest rated defensive lineman was 274th in the nation
