I know he's going to want a monster contract, but do the saints want to pay him? Do you risk a D that is finally playing decent?

I'm not giving Vaccaro any kind of big money deal. He doesn't show consistency for the money he will want/command. Let another team pay for that.

a 3rd would be tempting if they have no interest in resigning him.

Do yall realize that Vaccarro played every defensive snap on sunday and was the only player to do so?

Which is why I posed the question. It's been speculated for quite awhile

This. He's just as likely to give up a big play as to make one. He's a decent tackler at the line of scrimmage and that's about it. Anything else you get from him is lagniappe. Roman Harper 2.0

I'm all for players getting paid, but I want to follow Patriots model and let other teams over pay for non-essential players and continue to build through the draft.

His career high in INTs is 2. Passing that is supposed to be some kind of milestone??

Fwiw-He's already tied his career high for being benched in a season.

So was Malcolm Jenkins' career high as a Saint: TWO.

His career high as an Eagle is 3.

These discussions are really hard to have without knowing the money that is needed.

Well let's hurry and trade KV so he can get that 3rd INT before '17 is over.

He's played every snap outside of the NE game (only 65%) and is tied with Jordan in snaps played despite that.

Allen moving him back to nickel/box safety instead of trying to play him deep is part of what kicked off our recent success on defense and our winning streak.

That coupled with less zone, no Harris, and more 3 safety sets (Bell got 61%, 87%, and 94% of the snaps the last 3 weeks) has us rolling.

Guy is worth the money when they let him play to his strengths. It's when they put him 20-30 yards off the line expecting him to be a coverage safety is when he looks like crap. It seems like every year they try to get him to play off the line only to put him back in the box and he excels.

He's a good not great safety, and will not be worth the money he'll ask. I'd rather the Saints try to find a more cost-effective replacement.
