I had a 2002 Chrysler Sebring which was a total piece of shite. It consistently leaked antifreeze and no one could ever find out why. The model also had a chronic problem of the water pump failing around 80k. The worst part of this is that the water pump was located INSIDE the crankcase so when this happened, antifreeze leaked inside the oil pan which could cause you to throw a rod when it happened. Even if you were lucky enough to catch it in time, the replacement of the water pump required the whole engine to be taken apart which was a $2200 repair. Mine failed twice in about 18 months and I sold the hunk of shite.
I’ll never by Chrysler again.

All the Mitsubishi designed engines had the water pump driven by the timing belt.
So off the water pump seized, your engine likely blew.
I had a friend with a 3000gt and I had a real Montero and we both had that issue. Then started noticing people with Chyslers having that issue. Looked it up and found Daimler sourced engines out to Mitsubishi for Chrysler.
