Yeah. Good job big man! Killing a snake on hunting property! Sorry (not really) but killing snakes for no reason is pathetic.

Always a tough call. Timber's are such beautiful beasts but it's a damn if you do/damned if you don't kinda thing. If I can move one away from hunting property to an area he shouldnt bother anyone I will. But damn if I'm gonna step over a log while bloodtrailing a deer and get popped by one either. I usually hunt alone , pretty far back in the sticks, so getting to a hospital before paralysis might set in could be 50/50.
Now all copperheads must die regardless. ....no warning before getting popped, unlike a rattler.
Beautiful snake though...

You know, I tend to let them walk(crawl). You have to pretty much step on a snake for it to bite you, and then it's not always 100%. 6 people annually die from a snake bite. You have a much better chance of dying on your ATV or falling out of your stand.

But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Tired narrative. Had a reason. Haha. I see from the down votes we have alot of girly men. Cows kill a hell of alot more people than snakes, but i don't see anyone posting pictures of bovine kills for recognition. Lord knows I pass a whole herd near my squirrel spot. Best part is you think killing one will make the area safe. False sense of security. Like a gun free zone.

I am programmed to kill poisonous snakes when I see them.

cotton mouths and copperheads are executed at first sight - no questions asked.

If a rattlesnake rattles - I may leave it the hell alone. Had one rattle at me a couple of weeks ago in a palmetto thicket....I backed the hell out of there....did not even look for it.

Cottonmouths are useless, devil spawn that should be wiped of the earth.

You don't kill any snakes then. They're venomous, not poisonous.

It's not an attachment to snakes, I just don't see the need to kill something without some justification.

Shut TF up idiot. We have kids that run all over the camp site playing. If I see a poisonous ( ) snake there, it's gonna die. Period. Take your Steve Irwin wanna-be arse outta here.

Same here. You are going in to it's house and then killing it for being there. Would you shoot a bear if you could get away from it? If it were near my stand i'd probably shoot a snake.

Call me an idiot, but you continue to use incorrect word after being apprised of the correct word. They inject venom. You get poison ivy. But, maybe you're right. If the kids are anything like you, kill the snake, because they're liable to try to use it as a scarf.

Tough guy...
WTF is wrong with you? You PETA or something? Snakes > Children? I do the same with venomous snakes I find in my yard. King snakes get thrown under the house, alive, but if they don't do their job then I help em out. It's not like an 8-year old can be expected to maintain an attention span to watch out for snakes while catching footballs in the front yard. I also kill rat snakes that I find in the chicken coop, but I guess I should just continue to feed em right? i'm thinking a chicken egg is a fairly easy target so why the F--- would the snake bother with a rat, besides I have enough cats and a jack russell so rats ain't a problem. Sunday my mountain cur was bit on the nose by a cottonmouth 10 ft from my front door, jack russell destroyed it, such a bad dog. Now, if I'm out in the swamp and come across a mocassin I leave them be, that's their home. Stay the f--- away from mine.

That's great that I may not die from one, but I also don't want to foot the bill for getting bit by one either. That shite might kill me.
