I post a lot about snakes, but I am not against people killing the poisonous(the correction to venomous is more douchey than magazine/clip) ones in populated areas. Hell, erry time Mung picks up a copperhead on our disc golf course, all I can think about is some unaware mom or child that may have to deal with a bite.

you sound like the type of guy who would kill everything to the point of extinction and then wonder why hunters get a bad rap.

I spend a lot of time in the woods and snakes are part of what makes it beautiful. Killing something for no reason other than it was convenient to you at the time is a pretty shitty thing to do.

No kids come first. The whole point is the OP killed a snake in the woods. Then uses his neighbors kids as justification. Unless they share an apartment, that's weak. By all means, smoke em around the house, because I don't expect anyone to relocate a venomous snake without training. And it's not being PETA, it's having respect for wildlife in its habitat, a very important principle of hunting. So, put that in ya pipe and smoke it. And let the ignorant down votes continue....

Its not douchey when it's fundamentally wrong and something that should be corrected. I'm not expecting people to know the difference between a pit viper and elapidae, just general knowledge. L

And this guy. man maybe i should have left him in the net.

But i didnt miss on this guy.

dont be such a douche. having a venomous snake around where people will be is plenty of justification to remove it from this earth.

Man, some of you are quite dense. I'll try to be simple.

SNAKE. WAS. IN. WOODS.

NOT. YOUR. HOA. SUBDIVISION.

NOT. A. PLAYGROUND.

THE. WOODS. AKA. IT'S. HOME.

I'm probably going to pop a snake this afternoon when I put my deer camera back up in the woods behind my house

The snake never messes with me, but your manly posts just make me want to do it

I'm guessing Speckled Kingsnake in pics with net/boat...

I'm also assuming last two pics are a juvenile cottonmouth and not a copperhead (Judging from the stripe on side of head....?

yes.... was tangled in my cast net but i was able to get him out and put back in my lake.

and yes it is a cottonmouth not a copperhead. i started a thread here about it and that was the consensus based on what you said.

[quote]Killing a snake on hunting property! Sorry (not really) but killing snakes for no reason is pathetic.[/quote

You do realize there's no "reason" to kill a deer either. You can buy meat all day long, and a whole lot cheaper than what most of us spend on our deer hunting. Just using the excuse that you are going to eat it doesn't constitute a "reason" based on some undeniable need or necessity. You're not Hiawatha. Hunting so you don't starve to death. We kill deer because we enjoy the hunt or like to eat deer. If someone prefers to kill a snake for peace of mind or whatever, then who are you to chastise them when apparently you are a hunter? It's not like there's a shortage of snakes or you're wasting meat. A hunter with a bleeding heart for venomous snakes is about as absurd as a whore in church.
