I’m a SULC grad and I passed LA and TX bars on first attempt. Lol at those people saying that it matters where ya go to law school.

There's a reason sulc is laughed at and it's because it's a bad law school. By the numbers, it's simply a bad law school. Like anything else, statistics don't necessarily apply at the individual level, but I felt like LSU was filled with dopes and the students I met from sulc were even worse. And that's not to say I'm some sort of genius. I graduated from LSU, not Harvard. But listening to sulc students study with each other at LSU's library or out and about in coffee shops and stuff, they were failing to grasp basic, basic concepts. On the other hand, I know plenty of competent lawyers from there, so that doesn't apply to all of their students.

Absolutely. Nothing you said here is wrong except I'd condition that its a bad law school insofar as the entrance requirements are horribly low (duh). Most (certainly not all) of the faculty are good at their job. The results of the entrance requirements are what you have spelled out here. I'm not sure you will get an argument from most SULC grads that post on here.

I’d just like to chime in here and thank you all for reassuring my decision to not pursue law.

Thx.

Congrats. You made a wise choice. And this is coming from one of the lucky ones, who has a pretty good job that he generally likes.

In other news, Joseph Bruno, Sr. is suspended... LINK

ETA: When the decision starts out, "Before we address the current charges, we find it helpful to review respondent’s prior disciplinary history.", that's not a good sign

Over letting a homeowner’s claim prescribe. What a dumb way to get disciplined.

Anyone else freak out for a second when the LADB monthly newsletter email pops up?

My only professional goal is not to get any attention from those folks.

Serious question if you don't mind --- how do you get clients? Do you advertise? Do you work for someone that advertises? Is it like a word of mouth thing?

85% of our business are referrals, we have the money and the ability to push them the way they have to be pushed. We dont advertise and never have.

It took me back the first few times. Imagine what I did when I actually got a complaint 4 years ago (from a non client and completely unfounded - immediately trashed).

I couldn't imagine working in the LADB office and having to read through the majority of "complaints" that are 100% unfounded or ridiculous.
