I think it would be hilarious. They’ve not been filed against me personally, but I’ve been privy to some frivolous bar complaints in my short time in practice.

Yeah. About this "where you went to law school" commentary.

I've skinned some Ivy League grads alive. I've had my arse kicked by grads of so-called "lesser" law schools. In the real world, there is a relatively weak association between where you went to law school and how good of a lawyer you are.

I'm LSU from back in the flunk-your-arse-out days.

what was it?

A person was doing a RE transaction and brought all of the money in ahead of time (two weeks). They ended up backing out of the RE transaction and never signed anything. So I gave them their money back. It wasn't a huge transaction. Basically like $10k on an undivided interest in some property in the boondox in East Feliciana. It was family selling an undivided interest to family so there was a lot going on with that. Anyway, the would be seller wrote a letter to ODC saying I stole her money.

I made $0 on the transaction. Got an ODC complaint. She also found some legal services in Arizona where she lived to contact me and ask me about it. After explaining they left me alone.

Too bad ODC doesn't have the ability to file anything similar to "falsifying a report". If they collected $20 per unfounded report, maybe my bar dues would go down a little

This is the first testing session they got rid of the fake names in years, still isn't anonymous at all though. Louisiana is trying to catch up with other states but just haven't figured it out yet.

SULC is a fine law school. i love the diversity and how it take chances on hard working students who don't always have impeccable academic records. I've seen subpar students from SULC go on to have lucrative careers ... their work ethnic and personality were key to their success ... not memorizing A or B on a test.

Also the law students at the other La. law schools have more money to afford numerous types of BAR preparation resources.

Yeah - they didn't want to take a chance on me. I got updated records and got accepted to LSU. My "fall back" school wasn't a priority any longer.

Having said that, there are some fine lawyers who went through Southern. And 2 of the worst you ever saw (from the same class, no less), too.
