Just because you don't understand how to get your message out to the masses doesn't mean you can't learn how.

Hell all you have to do is look at some of the instagram queens...

Seems like you're not trying very hard.

The intent of the constitution was written back when guns could only fire one round ball at a time and it took a good light infantry man 30 seconds to reload.

No. The intent of the constitution (specifically the 2nd amendment) was to keep a check on a tyrannical government.

And before so say something stupid like "civilians could never defeat the military" I'll go ahead and say bullshite. 150,000,000 civilians own 350,000,000 firearms in America. If it came down to a fight the military would not have an easy row to hoe. Consider how bogged down they have been in Iraq and Afghanistan.

you should never justify policy, especially increasing government, based on emotional thinking

bad "logic" there

For every murder committed with a rifle, dozens (if not hundreds) are committed with a pistol.

Your thread is bad and you should be ashamed.

Where's the paranoia in that statement.

It's reality.

It's exactly what we will be doing for the next week or so.

And then the story will fade into the background while we argue about walls and tax cuts.

At least until the next one...which will happen.

Doubt it. I'm already firmly against "gun-free zones."

also, just as a reminder, we have banned assault rifles adn the AWB didn't do shite

I mentioned that in my OP. The Clinton ban had no teeth because it was mostly about cosmetics and "pats on the back" for the Democrats. They didn't go far enough, quite frankly.

The Clinton ban said that a gun is an assault rifle if it had the following features:

1) A flash suppressor

2) A magazine of more than 10 rounds

3) A bayonet lug

4) Pistol grips

The ban made it illegal to manufacture (new) rifles with all of these features. However, you could have 2 of the 4 features. So what happened? Colt and Armalite and others simply sold their guns without a bayonet lug and a flash suppressor. This meant you still had pistol grips and a 30 round mag, if you wanted. And the ban said nothing about guns manufactured prior to (1994 I think it was). You could still buy those with no issue, even though the price did jump on them.

I believe most of them would have been doing exactly as Dan BLizeran did...it's always easier to be the toughest cat in the room until someone starts spraying the room with rounds.

Gun control is not one of my beliefs.

I recognize that will never happen in my lifetime.

But I guarantee we will have more mass shootings in my lifetime.

Many more.

sale of military style weapons

Why are you worried about military style weapons when there are hundreds and thousands of needless deaths due to race/drag/performance style vehicles?

No one needs a car that can exceed 25 mph. No one needs a dodge viper. Or Ford mustangs. Or any of them. They are useless metal death traps and you can get from point a to point b in a plethora of other, more safe and environmentally friendly ways.

Just think of all the lives you will save. All the children who will live a long and happy life.

If you aren't for common sense vehicle control then you are a monster and hate children.

America needs some sort of gun control. The founding fathers didn't intend for civilians to have automatic/semi auto weapons. Seriously in what world do we need weapons like these? If your only answer is that they're fun to shoot, then you should feel really bad. It may not be the perfect fix, but it will be a step in the right direction. These weapons should be for war only, it's really pretty simple. We have at least got to try, I mean it's just insane to sit here and do nothing.
