I mentioned that in my OP. The Clinton ban had no teeth because it was mostly about cosmetics and "pats on the back" for the Democrats. They didn't go far enough, quite frankly.
The problem is that it was created by people that know nothing about guns. That should tell you something right there.

And before so say something stupid like "civilians could never defeat the military" I'll go ahead and say bullshite. 150,000,000 civilians own 350,000,000 firearms in America. If it came down to a fight the military would not have an easy row to hoe. Consider how bogged down they have been in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Ask yourself this.
How many of the 150 or so civilians who own the 350 million fire arms actually have had any training on them.
If you think the federal goverment (and since we are playing make believe let's pretend the soldiers go along with the actions) wouldn't wipe the floor up with the civilian armed insurrection...just take a look at who owns all the tanks, bombers, and warships and get back to me.
It's an NRA fantasy that all those guns keep the big bad American government from becoming a dictatorship.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.

Gun control is not one of my beliefs.
No "common sense" gun laws then?

America needs some sort of vehicle control. The founding fathers didn't intend for civilians to have thousand pound metal death traps going 70mph. Seriously in what world do we need vehicles like these? If your only answer is that they're fun to drive and go fast, then you should feel really bad. It may not be the perfect fix, but it will be a step in the right direction. These vehicles should be for racing only, it's really pretty simple. We have at least got to try, I mean it's just insane to sit here and do nothing.
Fify.

you should never justify policy, especially increasing government, based on emotional thinking
bad "logic" there
Oh isn't that convenient?
It's always emotional when anyone brings it up. It's never a good time to bring up Thur topic.

Exactly imagine if some poor rice farmers or goat herders tried to take on the full might of the U.S. military.........

Right? So you agree that there is no need for useless vehicles that exceed 25 mph? Think of all the lives you will save. Think of the children.

Yeah, you provided a shitty argument with no supporting evidence, bud.

pointless.
That horse is long run from the barn.
350 million firearms in this country. No way you are ever going to stuff that rabbit back in the hat.
Bury the dead. Move on.

We've spent 16 years in Afghanistan. One would think they're pretty backwards in terms of military might.

Learn your history first. There were repeating rifles when the bill of rights was written. There were breech loading rifles.

The US military won each and every battle it engaged in. And believe me, untethered from politics would have done a lot more of breaking things and killing people. It was the most amazing thing once Nixon let them bomb Hanoi how quickly the North Vietnamese government ran to the peace table.
