If your flight gets cancelled they will let you change origin, also if you get a good agent they will help you out. I've had an origin changed before (on AA) as well as minati in this thread (on united). I'm worried they won't even try to fly the plane into LCH Tuesday night. You're on the 6am wednesday correct?

Based on this image below, it looks like wednesday may be even worse than tuesday. No one really knows though, myself included

Call AA and see what your options are. Talk with them and say you're concerned about your flight being cancelled and if they'll let you change to lafayette since the flooding isn't supposed to be as bad there. I wouldn't recommend switch to any airport west of LCH

Thursday looks like it's gonna be worse for DFW area and inbetween LCH and DFW, which is where you'll be flying through. This is a crappy situation all around, but I still think the 2pm flight will be better off than the 6am the rest of this week

Eta: Just read that southwest left 15 planes at hobby and they may be writeoffs due to the flooding

Headed to salt lake today or just a connection? So far your flight is doing MEM-LAX-SLC-MSY-SLC and it's almost at LAX about 20 min early. Looking okay so far. I would still get to the airport early just in case your SLC-MSY flight gets delayed or diverted

Any expectation that flights out of MSY might be affected as far out as Sunday?

Still feeling doubtful about my friend flying out of Houston (Southwest) on Thursday. Do we have any hope?

Southwest was able to get 4 flights out of Hobby last night for stranded passengers (flew them up to Dallas). There is hope, however from what I've been reading all the water from the reservoirs up north will be making their way down south towards Hobby. I'm not sure if your friend is able to make her way to Nola safely but if she is I would suggest doing it and flying with you.

I have a route from PPT-LAX - DFW - BTR, landing in BTR on Wednesday night. Any guesses as to whether this flight will occur?

I just received the change fee waiver email, is there any better routing for American that some of you frequent flyers can come up with?

I assume we will make it to DFW but BTR may be the issue.

ETA: PPT-LAX leg.

Can you do tomorrow instead of Wednesday? I can help find inventory if you can do that. Storm will be near TX/LA border most of the day wednesday, tuesday looks a bit better

My origin is PPT, so flying out early means rescheduling a bora bora to tahiti flight and the PPT to LAX flight.

Not worth it, keep enjoying your vacation and make alternative plans in Dallas as a just in case situation. I would book a refundable hotel for Wed night at DFW that allows cancellation through midnight Wed night/thurs morning

I was looking at the Hyatt website (there's a Hyatt Regency at DFW airport for $200/night) and it shows "Cancellation of this reservation is subject to the hotel cancellation policy.

48hours Prior To Check In To Avoid One Night Fee "

Which means you'd have to cancel today which doesn't make any sense if you're just booking. If you have phone access you may want to call them and see if they will waive the cancellation fee but you just don't know if you'll be stuck in Dallas overnight due to the hurricane. They probably run into this situation all the time so they should be accommodating.

Phone number: +1 972 453 1234

ETA: There's a super8 hotel for $65 2 miles from DFW with free airport shuttle. Just book it and if you make it back to BTR then you're only out $65 not $200 LINK

Supposed to fly Southwest from NOLA to Houston on Thursday (for LSU game) and then Houston to Pensacola on Sunday (Southwest again). Obviously looks like game will not be there and I won't be making the trip at all. Think I can get a full refund or how does that work? Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks for the help Cuse.
